This topic discusses the global mindset of an entrepreneurs and focuses on the concept of
global marketing and how internet changes the marketing mechanism to deal with the various
problems. It also emphasizes the, Importance of Internet in Global Marketing.

Global Marketing In Light Of the Internet

The Oxford University Press defines global marketing as “marketing on a worldwide scale
reconciling or taking commercial advantage of global operational differences, similarities and
opportunities in order to meet global objectives”. Global Marketing can be define as 4 P’s which
is Planning, Producing, Placing and Promoting a business products or services in the worldwide
market. For example, the Famous Dunkin Donuts, it offers menu items to satisfy global taste, like
dry pork and seaweed donuts in China and Mango Chocolate donuts in Lebanon. These offerings
are available in over 30 countries.

The emergence of the Internet in the early 1990s and its gradual commercialization through
the early 2000s would coincide with the globalization of media and cultural products. Brands
around the world have since attempted to take advantage as well as keep abreast of the commercial,
technological, and cultural trends around Internet marketing. The internet and its associated
technology have provided an economical and efficient way for global marketing to create
additional advanced activities to market their products and services.

The Importance\Effects of Internet on Global Marketing

1. The Internet making it easier for companies to participate in foreign markets – it is more
a lot easier for some companies to offer globally standardized products or services and more
often use customer related activities. The internet has given a richness of information involved
in a transaction and the number of people that it could be reach. There are a lot of advantages
when a company uses the internet for its global marketing. It can help increase sales because
the web advertisement reach several customers all over the world.

2. The Internet help small businesses participate in the process of global marketing- the
internet has allowed small businesses instant access to any new product development and
technological advanced that can help improve their products and compete with larger
companies. The that small exporting businesses exchange information has changed drastically
since the internet has become popular during pandemics. That the most significant effects that
the internet has on global markets for businesses is the ability for them to reach international
audience for very low cost.

3. From communication perspective, global marketers can leverage the internet in two ways
• Pure advertising medium- this can be done via banner ads, search engine, advertising,
or more sophisticated forms of online advertising.
• Communication medium- it enables company to build customers ties. Customers
anywhere around the world can be targeted via web advertisement, advertising messages
can be customized to individual prospects.

4. The Internet offers great potential as a global interactive advertising channel – One-to-
One marketing to customers anywhere in the world is no longer a pipe dream. Overall the
internet provides a fundamentally very different environment for international marketing.

producing and promoting a business products or services in the worldwide market. any business
with creative strategy and understanding of markets can take part in global marketing Basically
global marketing depends on firms that comprehend the needs involved with providing local
customer with global standard solutions or products and localize those products in order to
maintain an ideal balance of cost, efficiency, customization, and localization in a control
customization continue to satisfy local, national and international requirements.

In 1990s the emerge of internet and its gradual commercialization through the eraly 2000s would
coincide with the globalization of media and cultural products. Brands around the world have since
attempted to take advantage as well as keep abreast of the commercial, technological, and cultural
trends around Internet marketing. The internet and technology that surrounds it have given global
marketing an affordable and effective way to develop new, cutting edge activities to promote their
goods and services.
