Describe the social characteristics of society where all children were conceived
and gestated in laboratories and raised in boarding schools. What might be the
social consequences?

(Lazaro)
“Au Naturale '' a phrase in French in which people usually choose because people
prefer natural ingredients, pure and organic, although synthetic materials seem to be
convenient, these natural resources seem to overpower such demand. Using this
principle, a society undermining and ignoring natural processes for children to grow (if
of course fertile and capable), learn and experience creates a society that is inhumane.
Inhumane in the sense that the standard of discipline will disregard emotions, human
processes with laboratories will ignore human processes with coitus, reproduction and
family planning. The world will seem gray, knowledge of advancements are great, yes,
establishing discipline is also great, but too much of it will lose the sense of living in a
world with vast production of resources, growth with children will be linear, there
wouldn’t be diversity, only monotonous harmony in living towards the society. That is the
consequence once being humane is diminished by only unnatural forces of human
knowledge in hopes of establishing man made futuristic assets.

Even though it sounds impossible, we are now nearing a future where artificial
ways of having a baby are doable and could also be a norm. It is less harmful and
deadly compared to a normal conception of a child. However, it may lead to some
serious consequences like issues regarding abnormal growth defects, overpopulation,
and an increased mortality rate. According to Raine-Fenning (2021), the natural
conception of a child would be considered a risk shortly since artificial ways of child
conception would be considered as the new normal. Anyhow, it would still be a risk,
especially to mothers who are not qualified or capable of this procedure.

(Ligas)
Recognition and acceptance of these children from a social perspective is highly
encouraged. Factors affecting this are not limited to the social environment and social
context for the fact that this issue may raise dispute and attention. Consequently,
children conceived by assisted reproduction may experience unconcealed prejudice not
only from their relatives and friends but also from the wider community. In connection,
some negative development may include emotional availability, sensitive responding,
higher stress level, anxiety, lower self-esteem, combination of control and warmth. Our
society is facing the dilemma of ideal structure.

(Lopez)
Children who are laboratory gestated may lack bonding between a mother and a baby.
Significantly, babies or fetuses should be in a mother's womb. It is also a way of
communication with your baby. Also, you can feel like being a mother when you carry
your child inside your womb. There can be a loss of connection between the child and
the mother. It should be the start of their bond since the baby is dependent on the
mother. That is why it is significant that the fetus should live and develop inside the
mother. Those children raised in boarding schools may lose touch with having a family
when growing up. They learned to be independent from the beginning, without the
guidance of parents or family. The bonding between families can have a big difference.
Children should be living with their families first until they learn of being independent on
their own with the guidance of their parents. Social interaction between siblings; a
parent and child relationship should be maintained. That is why there are children that
are used to being alone or with friends because the relationship with the family is not
strong enough. Parents should not practice sending their children to a boarding school
at a young age.

(Olid)
There are really big differences between children that were conceived and gestated in
laboratories and raised in boarding schools rather than what we used to or what is
usual. Children that are conceived in laboratories also have the greater risk of having
birth defects and malformations. They will not go through the natural stages or ways in
which the child needs to experience in order to grow and learn in life. There will also be
changes in the way they act, face and see reality. They could feel different and it might
lead them to be depressed. People around them could also not accept their situation
easily and they might see them as different ones. Also, there will be a risk of not
developing or growing the way normal kids are.

(Macaraeg)

The characteristics of the society where the children are conceived and gestated in
laboratories would lack the physical level of bonding and intimacy which is achieved in
between people during conception. Due to this lack of bonding, there will be a lack of
care and affection in society, and things will tend towards mechanical functioning.
Children raised in boarding schools will develop comradeship but will lack the
functionality to work and bond in smaller social units such as families. Also, the children
raised in boarding schools would all have similar experiences on a social level, and the
diversity that the families have in terms of social bonding and diverse value system and
ethical teachings would not be seen. Also, there would be a higher failure rate in
children raised in boarding schools are there was a single rule for all the students and
no family to support the student and understand his/ her interests and unique
requirements. Also, the values required to function as a young adult would entirely be
dependent on the child and not on the family and friends. Social consequences of such
a situation can be that there will be a majority of practical, non-caring, and emotionless,
competitive adults in the society where the values such as empathy, sympathy, and
compassion will be missing. This will lead to the formation of an ultra-competitive
society and the development of a culture of survival instead of social cooperation and
mutual agreement. This society will be volatile in functioning and dysfunctional in a short
period.

(Madronio)
They might have a personality of being distant and withdrawn from other people and
deal with problems in their social characteristics. It isn't easy because as they become
older they need to develop communication with others already for this will be used in the
future, especially at school or work. Kids who experience such situations usually
become discouraged and depressed also. There may be social consequences for them
to mix up in the society with individuals as they've carried on with their life in 4 walls.
Whereas we could anticipate reserved behaviors from these children that could trigger a
high chance of not wholly being open to other people that will result in vast baggage
they will carry. Being raised in a boarding school gives children a daily routine of
becoming fascinated in their books and neglecting to play and partake in their lives.
(Marcelo)
A society where all children were conceived and gestated in laboratories and raised in
boarding schools would result in a totalitarian-like society in which all individuals lack
control over their own lives and freedom. Children that are conceived and gestated in
laboratories contradicts the principle of inseparability by replacing the marital act of
procreation. Raising the children in boarding schools also violates a child’s right to
natural bonding. Although the objective of a boarding school is to help students or
children reach their full potential, the welfare of the child will be in dilemma as the child
may be viewed as nothing more than a means of satisfying the needs of its parents or
the society.

(Nabong)
As we reach the age where infertile couples can fertilize and then later on transfer to a
uterus, it is not impossible that we may reach an age where actual children are fertilized
and developed inside of laboratories. However, having these children transferred to
boarding schools deprives them of social interaction with other people and the outside
world. By having this deprived, these children may become lonely and isolated socially,
which could lead to anxiety and being introverted. These hindrances may also affect
the social development of the children in forming relationships with other people
because they lack the ability to figure out how to communicate with people aside from
the ones they live with. If they were to be exposed to the outside world they would be
subject to social consequences for example, losing motivation, getting disapproval from
peers, build up of anger or despair, and even possibly violence.

(Macatangay)
Change is the only constant in the world. Likewise, s cience and technology are also
progressing. It is constantly developing and increasing our understanding of the
universe, generating new queries for future research as well as innovative technological
advances (University of California Museum of Paleontology, 2022). Thus, with the
advent of reproductive technology and artificial procreation, a society where all children
are formed, gestated, and reared in boarding schools is quite possible. In this regard, I
believe that society has begun to disregard social mores that recognize the sanctity of
human life beginning at conception, especially as reproductive technologies such as IVF
raise issues of what happens to unused embryos. Consequently, in this scenario,
children are seen as expendable in and of themselves, yet also as a possession of the
parents who must conform to their ideas of the model child.
