With the learners’ perception of being one of the most difficult subjects, Mathematics
has been a challenging subject especially during the pandemic period. To cope up with the
learning gaps, strategic activities are deemed necessary to bring back learners’ interest in
learning the subject. One of the activities initiated by the Schools Division of Davao de Oro is
the Quarterly Search for Math Wizard, a Mathematics Quiz Bee which aims to enhance
learners’ academic excellence in mathematics; develop the mastery of basic mathematical
competencies; inculcate the values of hard work, perseverance, honesty, and sportsmanship;
foster an interest in mathematics, enhance the analytical and mathematical skills, allow
learners to experience co-curricular activity in the new normal setting and showcase teachers’
pedagogical knowledge and skills.
In this regard, the Nabunturan East District – Mathematics Group will be conducting
a District Level Search for Math Wizard (Math Quiz) to effectively choose a district
representative to compete for the Division Level.
