GROWTH MIND-SET IS THE THING THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

How do you face up to challenges or difficult tasks at school?


Do you avoid them because you worry that if you fail and people will think that you don’t
have the ability, intelligence, or talent to do your work? Or do happy to take them on and
hope that any mistakes you make will be an opportunity to learn and improve?
If you think that is a challenge for you, that means you have a growth mindset.
You should know that challenges are not impediments to your they are essential to your
life. The key to overcoming challenges is to lean into fear and find the courage and energy
to act. To do this, you have to change your perspective on challenges. You can manage
your thoughts and emotions to harness the energy and creative potential of challenges
and direct them toward positive growth in your life.
So, what is a growth mindset? A growth mindset means that you thrive on challenges and
don't scare off failure but as a stepping stone for growth and developing your abilities.
According to Professor Carol Dweck from Stanford University, She said: if you want to be
successful, you must believe that you can improve your ability. She believes that growth
mind-set helps you to feel failures are just a part of the hold learning process also failures
help you to be more innovative.
When there is a challenge or hard task, some people who had a fixed mind-set, who
always think that “I can’t do it”. Sometimes, they will look for someone who is doing worse
than they do so they can reassure themselves: “I’m still better than someone”. But people
with growth mind-set will try harder to solve the problem and they also look at other
people's work but looking here means they want to learn from others and want to know
their mistakes and then improve their performance.
To reflect myself, do I have a growth mind-set? And the answer is I don’t think that I have
a growth mind-set yet. But I won’t choose to have fixed mind-set. By many references, I
had developed many ways to have a growth mind-set. First, reviewing the success of
others is a way to have it, try to think about something that I have seen someone else be
success, think about how they achieved their success, and what is their ability to develop
their capabilities. Second, Harness the power of ‘yet’. The concept of ‘yet’ is one that Dr.
Dweck spoke about during a TED talk. To know that there are some subjects I am not
good at yet and by perseverance, I will improve it, I can realize my weaknesses and
something I have not developed yet. The third way is I will be seeking feedback, Seeking
feedback from teachers or friends is a good way to have growth mind-set, they will tell me
what mistake I am having, and demonstrate to me what’s wrong with me. By that, I will
know what I need to ameliorate.
So, know that growth mind-set is the thing that you should have to develop more, to get
out of your comfort zone, and to be successful. By challenging yourself and continuing to
learn, you can work on your goals and pursue your dream.
