My classroom starts with students walking through the door and immediately being able to pick
their lunch choice for the day. Then they move to their lockers (which have teaching supplies stored
above them) where they drop their back packs and jackets. They then move to the hand washing station
located on the far wall. After hands are washed and water bottle is filled, they pick up the morning
activity to work on which is conveniently placed on the countertop by the sink. Above and below that
countertop is where students can find art materials like crayons and colored pencils as well as games to
be played during indoor recess. Students then make their way to their desks in the center of the
classroom and begin working. In the front right corner, there is the classroom library with a rug,
bookshelf, greenery, and comfortable seating for the students. To the left of that is the white board,
important posters, the teachers movable supply cart/ podium, and the large group rug. In the front left
corner of the room is my teaching desk along with a closet for storage, a plant, and the homework hand
in table. Moving towards the door from there you find a circle table for small group, an extra white
board to put the daily schedule on, and my safe space for my students.

My classroom has a comfortable vibe where students will feel safe and not overwhelmed or
outcasted in. I have the needed supplies for all learns so that they may be successful on the storage on
the far-right wall, back cupboards, and library. My classroom is neat well-stocked lighted and
maintained to give my students a sense of belonging. Students are provided many choices to make
when it comes to what to read and where to sit in the reading corner as well as what games to play and
art to create during free time to give them a sense of freedom. Students will find my classroom set up
enjoyable by all the corners and spaces to feel comfortable as well as free in. Students will be reminded
to value themselves and others by the inspirational posters and rules present in the classroom. A few
affordances in my classroom include having the lunch choice area right by the door to remind students
to do that first. I have the para’s desk in the back of classroom so students will be less likely to be
distracted by her if she is helping another student. I have the safe space in a corner towards back of
classroom to give the student more sense of privacy, I have my rules poster in the front of the classroom
to remind students daily of it because they will look at it the most throughout the day.
