TAB Reaction Prompts

Write a brief paragraph about your reactions to the TAB experience you went through in class.
Answer the following questions to the best of your ability...

1.) How did the TAB experience effect you as a learner?

2.) What are the strong points to a TAB based classroom/lesson set up? What are the down
sides?
3.) What are some educational theories of practices that are used/highlighted in the TAB
model?

The TAB experience was a fun thing to do for class. It helped me to explore art mediums,
although I only did watercolors, I still got to see how other mediums could be used. While using
watercolors, I got to experience different elements of art such as color, shape, and space. I
think to have a strong TAB based classroom and lesson set up, you have to have different
activities and mediums for students to choose from to be creative. To be successful, I think that
you also must have different ideas for students to do because you can tell them to be creative
but lots of students would be stumped and not sure what to create. I think some down sides
could be having too many choices where students will rush through one thing to try and get to
many other things. By rushing through the art, students will not be able to focus on the
different concepts they are really learning through doing the TAB activity. Some of the
educational theories that can be used in the TAB model are the elements of art and the
principles of art. You can also connect the art to something you are learning for a different
subject in school as well.
