"Motivational Letter"

Dear Respected Sir/Madam,

I, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad Raza Shah would like to apply for the program of Master’s in “Computer
Science” at Saarland University Saarbrucken to refine my knowledge and skills in my area of interest.
I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career as a research professional at an
academic or commercial, research-oriented organization.

I have been interested in Computer Science from my school days. I did Bacelor’s in University of
Engineering and Technology, Taxila Pakistan for a Four years Bachelor’s of Computer Science Program,
which is one of the top rated institute in Pakistan.

The program of Master’s in “Computer Science” at Saarland University Saarbrucken has a combination
of mathematics, statistics as well as practical computer science subjects. In addition to those theories,
concepts about mathematics and statistics subjects focusing mainly on the subjects like Data Structures
and Algorithms, Networking, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Human Computer Interaction
studying individually as well as in groups and interacting with people from different fields of Science
during these different seminars and projects, provide me a good opportunity to widen my vision and
knowledge in Computer Science.

Germany has much to offer as a place to study - courses geared to international needs, internationally
recognized qualifications such as Bachelor and Masters German institutions of higher education are
characterized by the quality and diversity of courses on offer. They combine established university
traditions with modern facilities, research and teaching. Studying in Germany seems like the perfect
opportunity for me to meet other cultures, meet people with a different way of thinking, improve my
knowledge, learn another language and experience German education system. Of course, it would give
me practical experience and opportunity to test how I could arrange everything all by myself.

I wish to follow my Bachelor’s certificate with a Masters’s Degree in Computer Science and experience
the excitement and satisfaction of being at the forefront of this vast expanding Technical field. I feel that
postgraduation study at your University will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a
major step towards achieving my objectives. I am confident that I will match the high standards set by the
department with my diverse academic background and research & work experience.
