plants are plants that have efficacy in curing or preventing various diseases. medicinal properties
itself refers to the meaning of active substances that can treat certain diseases. Medicinal plants
can generally be extracted into traditional drinks such as herbal medicine, into pill tablets or
capsules and mixed into traditional ingredients that have medicinal properties. Traditional
medicine generally comes from plants that are still pure and have not been mixed or processed
further. Medicinal plants can be used based on the part of the plant in the form of leaves, roots,
stems, flowers, fruit and skin. and here are some types of medicinal plants and their benefits to
treat certain diseases!

1. Temulawak

is found in the tropics. Temulawak can develop and grow in the lowlands and highlands up to an
altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level. Temulawak can also be planted in the yard or in pots
and is easy to care for this medicinal plant. Then the efficacy of temulawak itself can cure
various diseases such as ulcers, diarrhea, flatulence, and liver disorders. Besides being useful for
healing ginger, it is also useful for mixing foods.

2. Turmeric

is a plant that is relatively easy to find, especially in areas that have a tropical climate. Turmeric
is a medicinal plant that has properties to cure various diseases such as cancer and tumors. In
addition, turmeric is also widely used as a traditional herbal preparation.

3. Sirih

Siri is a vine that grows leaning on a tree. Betel plants can grow well in the lowlands and
highlands with an altitude of 1,000 meters. Betel leaf is generally used to treat bad breath,
toothache, eczema and allergies. Betel leaf is also often used for traditional medicinal
concoctions.
4. Sambiloto

Sambiloto is a plant that is easily found in almost all parts of Indonesia. This plant has a medical
function as a liver protector and suppresses the growth of cancer cells. Sambiloto is a type of
herbal plant from the Acanthaceae family originating from Sri Lanka. Bitter leaf contains a lot of
andrographolide compounds, which are bicyclic diterpenoid lactone compounds.
Andrographolide has liver protective properties (hepatoprotective), and is able to protect the liver
from the negative effects of galactosamine and paracetamol. This efficacy is closely related to
the activity of certain metabolite enzymes. Sambiloto has long been known to have medical
properties. Ayurveda is one of the systems of medicine in Ancient India that lists sambiloto as a
medical herb, where sambiloto is called by the name kalmegh in Ayurveda.

5. Cat

Whiskers is a medicinal plant in the form of an upright wet trunk. The cat's whiskers plant comes
from tropical Africa, then spread to Asia and Australia. Cat's Whiskers leaves wet or dry are
useful for medicinal ingredients. In Indonesia, the dried leaves are used as a medicine to
facilitate urinary excretion, while in India it is used to treat rheumatism. People use Cat's
Whiskers as a traditional medicine as an effort to cure gout cough, colds and constipation. In
addition, the leaves of this plant are also useful for the treatment of kidney inflammation, kidney
stones, diabetes, albuminuria and syphilis.
