OBJECTIVES
To prepare graduates for the practice of nursing in various settings by providing a broad basic education necessary for the proper understanding of principles and methods of modern scientific nursing.
To provide students the broadest possible background of cultural and professional knowledge and equip the students with skills for future leadership position in nursing.
To provide students with theories, concepts, techniques and practices in the efficient and effective discharge of their duties which should redound to an over-all increase in work efficiency and in production.
To provide nurses with the spirit of service, social insight, commitment and humanitarian dedication in health care of the nation.
To contribute towards the regional, as well as national economic development and meaningful holistic social growth of the people.

NCM 103 : RLE CLINICAL

Course Name: CARE OF CLIENTS WITH PROBLEMS IN OXYGENATION, FLUID, AND ELECTROLYTE BALANCE, NUTRITION AND METABOLISM AND ENDOCRINE FUNCTION.
Course Code : NCM 103
Course Description:
It deals with the principles and techniques of nursing care management of sick clients across the lifespan with emphasis on the adult and older persons, population group in any setting with
alterations/problems in oxygenation ,fluid ,and electrolyte balance, nutrition and metabolism and endocrine function.
Course Credit :
6units Lecture, 8 units RLE (2unit Skills Lab; 6 units Clinical)
Contact Hours/sem: 144 hours lecture and 306 hrs. RLE
Prerequisite :
NCM 104, NCM 105
Placement :
3rd Year, 1st Semester
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, and given actual clients with problems in oxygenation, fluid and electrolyte balance, nutrition and metabolism and endocrine function, the student should be able to:
1. Utilize the nursing process in the care of individuals, families in community and hospital settings.
a. assesses with client/s his/her/their condition/health status through interview, physical examination, interpretation of laboratory findings
b. identifies actual and potential nursing diagnosis
c. plans appropriate nursing interventions with client/s and family for identified nursing diagnosis
d. implements plan of care with client/s and family
e. evaluates the progress of his/her/their client’s condition and outcomes of care
2. Ensure a well organized and accurate documentation system
3. Relate with client/s and their family and the health team appropriately
4. Observe bioethical concepts/ principles, core values and nursing standards in the care of clients
5. Promote personal and professional growth of self and others
