Racial Profiling Case Study

Which speakers invoke statistics to justify their position? How do the others justify
theirs?
Both James Stewart and Professor Edward Harvey bring up statistics to support their positions.
On the other hand, the other speakers use their personal opinions to justify their opinions,
though no real facts are provided.

Whose argument do you find most compelling? Why?

I not only find James Stewart’s argument the most compelling but also the most agreeable. He
brings up relevant statistics and facts, which fortify his position. Moreover, I can concur with his
general statement.

In a paragraph, present your own position on the need for public monitoring of arrest
statistics based on race.
It is always important for the public to have access to various forums, especially when it
concerns them. To often, racial discrimination/profiling within the law go unnoticed and
unpunished. Due to this, it is imperative that the broader community draws attention to the sad
facts of our reality. Furthermore, the statistics bring about undeniable proof about the existence
of racism and the lingering of it in our society today.
