Exchange Server
Exchange server is a server that used to provide root to send mails source to
destination.Microsoft Exchange is an email server that runs on Windows Server operating
systems. Exchange needs to prepare Active Directory so that it can store information about
your users mailboxes and the configuration of Exchange servers in the organization.

Requirements

 CPU: 1.4 GHz


 RAM Limit: 8GB
 Storage: Up to 10GB
 Window Server 2012 or Higher
 Active Directory Install
 DNS Install
 .NET Framework 4.7.1 Install
 Net TCP Port Sharing Automatic Start
 Media foundation feature install
 UCM 4.0 Setup Install
 IPv6: Enable

Mailbox Server Role


Hold or save the mailbox and public folder databases and consolidate all of the function
of the client Access, mailbox and messaging server.
Applications
Microsoft Exchange Server is Microsoft's email, calendaring, contact, scheduling and
collaboration platform. It is deployed on the Windows Server operating system (OS) for
business use. Microsoft designed Exchange Server to give users access to the messaging
platform from mobile devices, desktops and web-based systems.

Outlook Web Access (OWA)


Outlook Web Access is a by default mailbox component for Exchange Server which
allows users to connect remotely via Web browsers. OWA is used to access e-mail, calendars,
contacts, tasks and other mailbox contents while on the go.
Open “Server Manager”
Click on “Add roles and features”
Click on Next/>
This indicator features should be installed:

Click on Start menu and search Services then click on

Click on .Net TCP Sharing Service


Click on Startup Type/>
Click on Automatic/>
Then click on start/>
Then Apply/>
Then Click on OK/>
Installed, Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0
& Microsoft Visual C++ 2013.
Download and Open Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.
Then Right Clock on Setup.EXE, Run as administrator/>

If you select Don’t check for updates right now, you can
download and install updates manually later.
Then, Next/>

Initializing Setup…
The Introduction page begins the process of installing Exchange
into your organization. Click Next to continue.

Click, I accept the terms in the license agreement.


Check I accept the terms in the license agreement , and then
click Next/>
If you select Use recommended settings, Exchange will
automatically send error reports and information about your
computer hardware and how you use Exchange to Microsoft:

Click Next/>
Check the Exchange server role you want to install on your
computer:
Check Mailbox role, Click Next/>
Click Next/>
Click Next/>
Wait until loading completes. It will take a while:
Click install, it will take minimum 2 hours:
After installation, click Finish:
Click Start Menu & Open Exchange Administrative center:
Click Continue to this website(not recommended):
Enter your Domain\Administrator & Password:
Click Servers:
Know we’re going to create a new database for your login user.
Click database:
Click “+” Sign to create new database:
Type the name of database & Select Server:
Click Next to continue:
You can see Database(Database1,Db1 etc) created:
Click recipients to create exchange users:
Click “+” Sign to create new user:
Click User mailbox:
Select New user and enter any name and set the password:
Now choose database, Click Save:
You can see user(user1) created:
Now we are going to create a new group, Click groups:
Click “+” Sign to create new Group:
Fill up the whole give requirements:
You can see group(BSIT, Alias “IT” ) created:
Now we’re here on client machine to verify, is Ethernet
connection is ok? To check the Ethernet connection Type

“Ping_IPAddress”.
Put the information “user1” that we created on server (Page
No.50):
You can see we login for “user1”:
Search internet explorer or any other browser if you have :
Type https://servername.domainname/owa like
https://cyber.mst.com/owa to open the login page:Click More
Information:
Click Go on to the webpage (not recommended):
Enter the domain\username and password that we created in
the server:
Select time zone according to your area:Click Save:
As you can see the mailbox of user1 is login now:
Now create a new mail for user2 and click Send:
Open Sent items to verify that your mail is sent?
As you can see your mail is sent know to user2:
Now login user2:
Now user2 is login:
Now follow the same steps that we do for user1:
Type https://servername.domainname/owa like
https://cyber.mst.com/owa to open the login page:
Enter the domain\username and password , User2:
Select time zone according to your area, Click Save.
Now mail has been received on user2:
