1. The graph below shows the gradual rise in the number of Internet users in Bangladesh. Describe the graphs in

Internet Users (in crore)

The graph shows the number of Internet users from 2001 to 2013. From graph we notice a
gradual rise in the number of Internet users over the period of 12 years.
At first, the graph shows that in 2001 the number of Internet users is the lowest and it is
only 0.31 crore. The number rises significantly in 2003 and becomes 1.50 crore. This
number is almost 5 times more than of 2001. The number of Internet users rises to 2.43
crore in 2005 which is also remarkable. And we notice, from 2003 to 2005 within two years
the number rises 0.93 crore. The rise goes on and in 2007 the number of Internet users
reaches 3 crore. Again the graph shows in 2009 the number of Internet users is 5 crore. We
notice from the graph, the greatest increase in the number of Internet users between 2007
and 2009 ranging from 3 crore to 5 crore. In 2011, 5.56 crore people use Internet while it
increases slightly and becomes 6.14 crore in 2013.
Now, if we analyze the whole graph, we will can see from 2001 to 2013 within 12 years, the
number of Internet users rises 5.83 crore. So it is obvious that more people are getting
Internet addicted with the passage of time.

Export Import

The graph shows the export and import of Bangladesh from 2007 to 2011. Here 5 years
import and export have been shown through two types of column— the black coloured
columns representing the export and the ash-coloured ones showing the import.
At first the graph shows in (2007) the export amounts to 12.45 billion dollars while the
import amounts to16.67 billion dollars. So, the difference is noticeable. In the second year
(2008), there is a slight increase in export but significant increase in import. And the export
and import are 13.97 and 19.59 billion dollars respectively. In the third year (2009), the
export figures at 15.07 and the import at 19.67 billion dollars. The graph presents in the 4 th
year the export is 16.24 billion dollars while the import is 21.34 billion dollars. In the last
year, export stands at 23.86 and import at 31.75 billion dollars.
By analyzing the information of the graph, it can be summed up that the business with
foreign countries is on the increase. But it, at the same time presents a pessimistic picture of
our economy. Because, in spite of the rise of export and import, export is still too low than
import.

Number of People Below Poverty Line (%)

The graph shows the number of people below poverty line from 1995 to 2010. There is a
notable increase of poverty line till the year 2003 and a significant decrease over the next 7
years in 2010.
At first the graph shows, in 1995 the number of people below the poverty line is 36%.
There is sharp increase in the number of people below the poverty line. The graph presents,
in 2003 the number of people below the poverty line is 45%. So, in the graph we see, from
1995 to 2003 within 8 years the number increases 9%. But the situation improves and the
percentage of people living below the poverty line comes down to 30% in 2007. Again the
graph shows, from 2003 to 2007 within 4 years the number drops to 15% and this is surely
a huge improvement. Finally there is also a slight decrease of over the next three years. So
in the year 2010, the number of people below the poverty line reaches 28%, dropping 2%
from the year 2007.
Therefore, a detailed study of the graph gives us a positive picture of the poverty line of
Bangladesh. So, we see from 1995 to 2010, within 15 years the number of people living
below the poverty line decreases to 8% which is surely a great sign to the way of
development.

The graph shows the number of road accidents from 2009 to 2013. From graph we notice, a
gradual decrease in the number of road accidents over the period of 5 years.
In 2009, the total number of accident was 2631 and in these accidents 2498 people got
killed and 2325 people were injured. In 2010, the number of accidents was 2254 in which
2108 people got killed and 1661 people were injured. 2054 accidents took place in 2011,
which killed 2119 and injured 1374 people. There was a slight decrease in the number of
road accident, killed and injured people in the year 2012. In the year, 1979 accidents
occurred in which 2063 people died 1904 people got injury. In 2013, the number of
accidents and people got killed and injured decreased further. In that year, the total number
of accidents was 1525, which caused death to 1543 people and injury to 1247 people.
So, it is clearly seen from the graph that, the number of accidents was highest in 2009,
which gradually came down every next year and it became the lowest in 2013.

The graph shows infant mortality rate in Bangladesh from 2005 to 20012. From graph we
notice, a gradual decrease in the number of infant mortality over the period of 8 years.
The graph shows that, the infant mortality rate is 62.6 in 2005. The rate slightly decreases
and it comes down to 60.83 in 2006. The decrease continues and in 2007 the infant
mortality rate comes down to 59.12. Again, the graph indicates the decreasing infant
mortality rate which is 57.45 in 2008. But the graph presents a sudden rise of infant
mortality rate the next year. And the graph shows in 2009 the rate reaches to 59.02. In
2010, there is a remarkable change in the number of infant mortality rate which is 52.54. In
the next year, in 2011 the rate comes down to 50.73. Finally, the lowest rate of infant
mortality rate which is 48.99 is seen in the year 2012.
Therefore, we see, from 2005 to 2012, within 7 years the infant mortality rate comes down
to13.61 which is surely a sign of great improvement.

6. The graph below shows the choice of profession by educated people in our country. Describe the graph in at

The graph shows the choice of profession by different educated people in Bangladesh. Six
types of jobs are mentioned in the graph. These are farming, business, govt. job, research
work, banking and teaching.
The graph presents govt. job tops the list. 60% of the educated people prefer govt. job as
their profession. Banking profession holds the second position. We see 40% of educated
people select banking as their profession. Teaching is in the third position in the graph.
The graph shows 30% people like to take teaching as their profession. After teaching
comes the business profession which is liked by 20% people. Sadly, from the graph, we
see only 10% of people take farming profession. Finally, from the graph we notice, the
lowest number of people are involved in research work which is only 5%.
Therefore, it can be said that, educated people should give more importance on farming
and business professions, as the economy of our country depends greatly on them.

7. Look at the chart. It shows the result of a survey on supporters of different games. Now, analyze the chart

The pie chart shows the result of a survey on supporters of different games. The categories
mentioned in the chart are football, cricket, golf, hocky and tennis.

In the pie chart we see that 40% of the people like football and it is liked by most of the
people. Therefore, it is visible that football occupies the largest part of the pie chart.
Cricket holds the second position in the pie chart. So, the pie charts presents cricket is
liked by 25% of the people. Therefore it is very clear that, the number of football lovers is
15% more than the cricket fans. Hocky takes the third position and the pie chart shows
15% of the people like hocky. Again we see, cricket and hocky jointly equal the number
of football fan. It is visible from the pie chart that, golf and tennis have little appeal among
the people. Tennis is loved by 13% of the people. The least liked game in the chart is golf.
Only 7% of the people like golf.
Therefore, it is clear that most of the people’s favourite game is football and their second
favourite game is cricket.

8. Look at the chart below. It shows the sources of air pollution in a city. Now, analyze the chart focusing on the

The pie chart shows the pollutions of a city with six different sources. These are the
vehicles, factories, household wastes, railway engines, brick fields and power house.
The chart shows that the highest level of pollution is caused by vehicles, and it covers
60% of the total pollution. The second rate of pollution is caused by factories which
cover 15%, of the total pollution. The third source is household wastes which covers 10%
pollution. Railway engines also contribute to pollution which is 5% of the total pollution.
Next comes the pollution by brick fields which is 8% of the total. 2% of air pollution is
due to the smoke emitted from powerhouse. From the chart, it also becomes clear that the
rate of pollution is very close by household wastes (10%) and by brick fields (8%).

But the highest level of pollution is caused by vehicles. The lowest rate of pollution has
been caused by power house. It is also clear that the rate of pollution by household wastes
is double the rate by railway engines.

9. The pie chart below shows the percentage of a family’s household income distributed into different
categories. Describe the pie chart at least in 150Chart

This pie chart shows the percentages of household income distributions into different
categories. The categories mentioned in the chart are— food items, clothes, education,
power transport, savings, and other things.
From this chart, it is visible that, the family’s 28% of total income is distributed for food
and it occupies the largest portion in the pie chart. Again, 25% of total is income is
distributed for education and it takes the second highest amount in the chart.
Transportation takes the third biggest amount and it covers (12%) of total income. For
power, and for other reasons the family distributes (5%) and (8%) of income respectively.
Moreover, the family is aware of the future and keeps an extra (12%) of income for
saving.
However, it is clear from the chart that, the family is a balanced one, as it distributes
income reasonably. The highest distribution of income goes for food items which is 28%.
The second highest distribution goes for education and it is 25%. The family is supposed
to be a happy one, with the reasonable distribution of income.
