ACTIVITY ANSWER SHEET

Answer the following questions briefly.

1. What is the aim of ethics? Explain your answer briefly.

According to the dictionary.com website, ethics is a branch of philosophy concerned with values relating to
human conduct, such as the rightness and wrongness of certain actions, as well as the goodness and
badness of the motivations and ends of such actions. A person's moral righteousness is determined by the
type of society or culture to which he or she belongs. Some cultures, for example, treat women the same way
they treat men, while others treat women unequally to men, but this is not morally wrong. It all depends on
the values or ethics they adhere to. The goal of ethics is to guide behavior in a way that increases positive
actions in society. It also enables a person to critically examine his own life and evaluate his
actions/choices/decisions.

2. Write something about yourself in 10 sentences.

Do you believe Horace when he says, "Carpe diem!" or "Seize the day!" That you should enjoy yourself while
you still have the opportunity? And if you believe that, my name is James Clarenze, and I also agree with
Horace, but only in moderation. I'm 20 years old and currently reside in Montalban, Rizal. As a college
student, this is my third school. I took the Bachelor of Science in Psychology at New Era University but it only
lasted 3 weeks. Then I decided to transfer to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where I pursued
a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in Social Studies, but I only completed the first semester. I
decided to take a break until I was mentally stable, and thanks to God, I was able to achieve a healthy mind
and pursue my dream program, the Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Now, I have a more optimistic outlook
on life, believing that I can do whatever I want, but only in moderation. I don't mind if I'm too late to finish
college. I always seize the moment and maintain a positive perspective on life.
