Analyzing Data

Evelyn Moreno

1. How well is the class doing as a whole group? Provide two statements.
a. As a whole group the class could do a little better. They seemed to struggle more
with division and addition. The average for subtraction was 74% which was okay.
So, in that instance addition and division could be gone over again or more
help/practice could be provided in those areas. The class average was 66% and
ideally, I would want that number to be higher, so I would focus on what I
mentioned.
2. Which individuals are doing well and in what topics? Describe at least 3 students.
a. Juan excelled in all topics receiving a 100% on the whole test including every
topic. Cody also did well on the test, receiving a 93%. He did exceptionally well
with subtraction and division, however he got 80% on the addition questions
which is still very good. Jack got an 80% overall, so he also did well on the test.
He got an 80% on each section of it, so he pretty much is on the same level of
knowledge for each section.
3. Who may need extra support and on what topics? Describe at least 3 students.
a. Luke got a 40% overall on his test. He got 40% throughout the three sections of
addition, subtraction, and division. Therefore, I would want to provide his extra
support on all three topics. Patrick got a 47% on his test, and I would provide
extra support in subtraction and division for him. He scored a little higher on
addition and although I would give him practice on that I would want to focus
more on the other topics because those were lower. Nathan on the other hand, I
would provide more support on addition and subtraction. He scored the same
overall, except he scored higher in the division section.
