A plural noun is more than one person, place, thing, or idea.

-Most singular nouns are made plural by adding -s.

-There are some other rules to follow depending on what letter the noun ends in:

Nouns ending in: Make Plural by: Example

ch, sh, ss, x, zz add -es lunch lunches

a consonant and y drop the y, add -ies baby babies

f or fe drop the f, add -ves elf elves

-Irregular plural nouns do not follow any rules. You must memorize them!
