- FIRST CONDITIONAL (PREDICTIONS) IF (SIMPLE PRESENT) + RESULT (FUTURE)

EX: If I study, I’ll pass the test. I’ll stay home if it rains tomorrow.

UNREAL CONDITIONAL – IMAGINARY SITUATIONS


- SECOND CONDITIONAL (PRESENT) IF (SIMPLE PAST/WERE) + RESULT (WOULD)

EX: If I won the lottery, I would travel around the world.


If I didn’t have to wake up early, I would stay up late.

- THIRD CONDITIONAL (PAST)


IF (PAST PERFECT) + RESULT (WOULD HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE)

EX: If I had arrived early, I would have seen him.


If I hadn’t had an argument with my mom, I would have gone with her.
My mom wouldn’t have made lunch if she had known that Sara hadn’t come.
