After careful and prayerful consideration, I request that:
I recognize that my appointment is made annually, and that regardless of the number of years of service
in my present situation, I may be involved in an appointive change. If so, I reaffirm the intent of my
ministerial vow regarding itinerancy, and I will accept my appointment, after consultation with my
District Superintendent. (2012 Book of Discipline ¶338, pg 264)
I understand that the appointive process involves the needs and preferences of all churches and
pastors/deaconesses throughout the Conference; therefore, I accept the fact that my own desire may
not be met.
I understand “open itinerancy” means appointments are made without regard to race, ethnic origin,
gender, color, marital status, or age, except for the provisions of mandatory retirement (2008 Book of
Discipline, ¶ 430.1).
