YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC),

ST PETER’S ANGLICAN CHURCH OGBETE, ENUGU.

WELCOME ADDRESS/VISION REPORT PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT, BRO. ODENIGBO NNABUIKE
SAMUEL, DURING THE PATRONS (NESSES) AND SENIOR FRIENDS MEETING ON 29TH MAY, 2022.
Calvary Greetings in the Name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
 APPRECIATION/THANKSGIVING:
I want to first start with appreciating the almighty God who have kept us and have led our lives thus far this year,
May his name be praised forever, Amen!
My appreciation also goes to you that made out time to be here today, what a great encouragement you have given
us with this your presence. Many were called and you chose to answer, thanks and may God continue to uplift you.
On behalf of my fellow leaders and members, we use this avenue also to specially appreciate you our senior
friends/patrons/patronesses for your immense supports and encouragement that have come in different ways and
in different measures. Thank you all for being our backbones. God bless you all.
 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS AND STATE:
In sustaining the foundational and diocesan vision of this great ministry, we have been faithful and consistent with
our programs and activities for the sake of lifting Jesus high and bringing God glory.
OUR DIOCESAN THEME IS “NOT MY WILL BUT THY WILL. (LUKE 22:42)”.
OUR OWN CHAPTER THEME FOR THE YEAR IS “MARANATHA! (1CORINTHIANS 16:22, REV. 22:20)”

WHY MARANATHA!
In a generation that talks less of their Hope in Christ and the imminent coming of our lord; it became necessary we
refresh our spirit, soul and body towards on them with the theme for the purpose of;
1. Raising a generation that have genuine encounter with the Lord with deep convictions.
2. Raising a generation with the consciousness of eternity alongside the consciousness of their earthly
relevance as they still live here.
3. Raising a generation that is knowledgeable on the issue of End-time (ESCATHOLOGY).
4. Raising a generation that is not living with the fear of Christ coming but are earnestly expecting His return
even though it tarries like the wise virgins.
5. Raising a generation their Hope in Christ is alive no matter their location.
6. Raising a generation that shall occupy till our Master comes.
7. Raising a generation that is uncompromisingly standing for the lord, notwithstanding the perverseness
and crookedness of our times.
This stated and more are the reasons for which we are studying MARANATHA and to achieve this, we have
subdivided the Theme into three different subthemes accordingly to the three quarters of this year 2022, and are
as follows;
First Quarter, we looked at the FIRST ADVENT OF CHRIST.
This Second quarter we are looking at THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST (study on ESCHATOLOGY)
Third and last Quarter we will look at ‘WHAT KIND OF MEN WE OUGHT TO BE, (2PETER3:11.)
Through our meetings days or schedules of activities, the Lord has been instructing us in different ways on this
theme coupled with other topical issues being treated also. The schedule for our meeting still remains; Mondays
for Bible Studies, Thursdays for our Prayer Meetings and Saturdays for our Fellowships.
The diversified nature of our programs tends to meet the spiritual need of all categories of individuals we find in
our midst; the unsaved, the babes, the maturing and for all to attain the highest level of our transformation which is
our conformation to Christ Jesus in His image and likeness.
Our special programs include;
PRAYER COVOCATION: this is in order for praying for all categories of examination candidates.
AFTER SCHOOL: for the sake of teaching us on LIFE SKILLs
RELATIONSHIP SEMINAR: for equipping us on relationship matters
Others include our ANNUAL YAC WEEK, Vigils (both chapter and diocesan), Brothers, And Sisters’ Forum etc.
 SUCCESS STORIES:
To the glory of God over this few years and months, we have seen men grew in every ramification and they are
testifying to it. Even if no much achievements is physically recorded in term of physical projects, the spiritual
investments which is what God values more and has been witnessed in the ministry by all who comes around and
are consistent, is a great comfort that we’ve not been laboring in vain. We deliberately make sure that even if you
are a passer-by, you will have a foretaste of God in our midst. This is the greatest of our joy.
The truth is that, this growth and success is not only recorded in our spiritual lives but also can be seen in our
academics, relationship, business and every other aspect of our lives, as all the teaching coming to us in this
ministry affects them in one way or another. Some have recently gotten admission into high institution and we are
believing GOD that, they will go ahead to be worthy ambassadors of Christ.
 NUMERICAL STRENGHT:
The average fellowship numerical strength is 35 members. This we keep laboring and believing God in prayers to
improve /increase more, we are not relenting in our efforts. The issue here is that YAC has and contains in itself
unique visions, foundation and organogram spiritually and even physically that not all that comes around wishes to
continue with especially when the teachings and doctrines start seeming hard. Many drop out as a result. Again due
to some other factors such as relocation (family/personal), school, marriage etc our membership is always affected
too. We covet your prayers for this ministry, PRAY FOR US.

 MEMBERS WELFARE:
We have sustained our efforts on the welfare of our members and hold it as a top priority. By the grace of God we
have;
1. Visited and prayed with some of their families many times.
2. Helped in some of their financial needs both towards academics and otherwise.
3. We have also watched their lives closely and keep fostering Love unto them.
4. In addition we have helped them intellectually towards their academics and God is the one we give all the
glory.
As part of the welfare, I/we don’t fail to discipline where necessary and the discipline they know is for maturity to
be attained. Moreover as the hymn writer said, “Where duty calls or dangers arise, we are never found wanting
there”. On this welfare, you can also partner with the fellowship to reach out to this families and members. Again if
we call you, please answer us.
 THE MINISTRY CHALLENGES:
Our challenges include;
1. Finance to run the needed fellowship expenses. This limits us in many ways especially in our Evangelism
and welfare drives. The simple truth s that we need money as our drops of offerings is not helping us
enough. Your help is highly needed, help us with your freewill, your tithe and whichever way as the spirit
prompts and leads you.
2. Another challenge which has affected the fellowship in no small way is the impromptu church fixture of
program and which our own programs are sublime under.
3. Adding to others is the inconsistency and lack of commitment on the side of the membership.
Nevertheless, amidst all this challenges, we thank God who have helped us and have done so to us through men like
some of us sitting here today. Please more of our help is needed; you are part of the reasons why YAC will not die
today and tomorrow.

 OTHER ISSUES:
Feedback from the last meeting;
In our last meeting held on 4 th October 2020, there were some issues raised and was discussed, following are the
feedback needed for us to be aware of.
1. On having fellowship official telephone line, efforts were made to get this but, due to some hitching factors
such as covid19 protocols as at two years ago and last year, we were not able to have gotten this. From the
enquires made the Sim-card must be registered in the headquarter of the service provider but, there was
always much population needing to be attended to daily, even up till date, specifically at MTN office at
Uwani. This is still in plan and will be achieved before the ending of this year.
2. On investment into cryptocurrency business for the fellowship as an income stream for the fellowship, this
did not work out as Bro. Raymond (president emeritus) who I was asked to meet for transacting and or
managing the business for us declined doing that with his understandable reasons citing his experiences.
He actually commended the idea but would not take up the responsibility. This brings us back to the
question of what would be a better idea for investment as a stream of income for the fellowship. On this
I will love us to react to it. Meanwhile I would want us to consider some such as buying and or investing in
stocks and bonds or buying shares. On this we can make more enquiries. Another idea I have is investment
into real estate. We need at least a stream of income.
This are the two major reports, we have from the last meeting. Our reaction is needed.

 SENIOR FRIENDS FORUM:

We are still crying out for a more organized and structured senior friend forum or body who will foster the
sustainability of the ministry in different ways and who each generation of leadership will in any way also be
accountable to. We need this as it’s very important and urgent.
Again we also want to plead for your care and concern for this ministry, it goes a long way to encourage and inform
us that we are not alone, that we elders with and around us.
On this, on behalf of my colleagues, I want to specially appreciate Bro. Samuel Anyim (UNCLE) who has always been
around. Seeing Him always and consistently is a great encouragement. We plead with others to follow suit, don’t
look for us or remember us only when you have problems. We love you all but please show us more care and
concern.

 YAC WEEK 2022:

OUR YAC WEEK 2022 is forthcoming and it’s scheduled as follows:
DATE: 4th- 10th July 2022
THEME: FAITHFUL AND WISE STEWARDS
SPEAKERS: DR. EMEKA UDEH and BRO. VINCENT CHUKWUKELU (Anambra).
The vision of this year’s YAC WEEK is reaching out to the souls of men who are lost and reviving them/others that
be weak and tired unto profitable kingdom engagement. The program will be teaching and prayer based.
Also, Part of our YAC week plan is to reach out to the indigent families of our fellowship this time around and
extend our love to them through any provision God makes available for us. This we don’t have money to do but we
trust God to make providence.
We have great financial need for the success of this year’s program and we are all part to make it a success. The
program will be costing us by factual estimate, the sum of N200, 000.00.
PLEASE OUR FINANCIAL SUPPORTS IS GREATLY SOLICITED AND NEEDED.

 ELECTION:
Am pleased to inform us that the current leadership tenure, will elapse in December and as slated in our
constitution the fellowship will hold another election to choose a new set of leaders that will go ahead to pilot the
affairs of the ministry in every aspect. The election will be holding after the interview in mid October or beginning
of November. The diocesan body has been pre-informed of this development and we will be following it up more by
updating them as time approaches. Our prayers are needed as we don’t want to choose our new set of leaders out
of carnality and or without God’s leading / guidance.

 CONCLUSION:
Men and brethren, that YAC will stand in upon our co-operate efforts; it’s not a sole proprietorship. We need
ourselves especially in these times.
Once again I want to appreciate us all for your presence and patience so far. We also thank you for your careful
attention to the reading. Now the floor is open for our wise counsels, encouragements, observations, advices and
reactions towards the issues raised in this address and/or otherwise as it concerns the ministry. Thanks and God
bless all.
YAC SHALL LIVE LONG, OUR LEGACIES SHALL NOT DIE!
NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!!!

YOURS BROTHER,

ODENIGBO SAMUEL NNABUIKE
