Essay Question: Why do teachers embody the traits expected of professional teachers?
To be a teacher bears great responsibility and great responsibility bears a lot of
expectations. Among other profession, I believe, teachers has the most expectations from the community, from the school, and from the students themselves. But what’s so great about teachers is that they embody the traits expected from them. The question is why? Aside from parents, teachers play one of the greatest role in the lives of children. As I have mentioned in the previous essay, teachers make a child ready for his/her future. We all have heard something similar along these lines that today’s youth will be tomorrow’s leaders. That, we may all agree. As we spend almost half of our lives at school, we students know the value of teachers in shaping our lives… or to the point of changing our lives for the better. We see teachers as role models and inspiration for each and every one of us to dream bigger, to go further, and to reach the brightest stars. One other reason why teachers embody the traits expected from them is because they have dedication. Being a teacher is a tough job, that’s a given but I have known as I observed and learn from great teachers, teaching is more than a job. Teaching is not simply about having a source of income but rather a passion: a passion where they value the youth and education and a passion to make difference among the lives of every children. The sight of a child who successfully reached his/her dream and now a functioning member of the society – who was under the guidance of a teacher may be one best things to see. All the compassion, the passion, the understanding and patience, and the little (or big) things teachers do to shape the future of a child is worth every effort. Truly, teachers are the backbone of the society. To be a teacher bears great responsibility and great responsibility bears great expectation but to be a teacher, matters.
