preface
Many different factors motivate individuals and groups. These include financial
reasons, power, achievement, opportunity for advancement, the ability to contribute; but
one major factor is the power of RECOGNITION. We, the National Awards Committee, are
aware that awards are an excellent supplement to almost any recognition program. JCI
Members who are recognized for their abilities and their contributions to their respective
local organizations are more likely to be happy, content, and motivated. They will also
continue striving for excellence in their desire to be better.
We believe that the membership’s inherent desire for accomplishment is the spark
that lights the fire from which JCI Philippines derives the warmth that sustains it. Because
of our contributions to our local organizations, the JCI movement in the Philippines has,
since 1955, maintained its glorious tradition of rewarding excellence that continues to
shine until this day.

I. INTRODUCTION:
WHY THE NEED FOR AWARDS
To recognize and honor outstanding achievement in pursuance of the purposes
of Junior Chamber by local organizations and individual members, Junior Chamber
International (JCI) Philippines has instituted a formal system of granting awards and
recognition.
This system hopes to bestow recognition to deserving individuals and local
organizations for their outstanding performance, motivate the winners, and as a primary
gesture of appreciation by the national organization for their excellent work done during
the fiscal year.
The annual Area Conference Awards and National Convention Awards, however,
go beyond mere acknowledgement of a chapter or its members’ contribution to community
building. It seeks to highlight the best practices of the organization to encourage more
members to be passionate about putting JCI’s core values to action.
