MACTAN?
- It demonstrated how the Filipinos fought fearlessly against the foreign invaders who took
control of the nation. Lapu-lapu was the one who killed Magellan, and the Filipinos
cooperated with one another in defending their nation from the invaders.

2. WHAT ARE THE CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF VICTORY OF THE BATTLE OF

MACTAN?
- According to Filipino history, Miguel López de Legazpi's conquest of the Philippines in
1564–1565 is thought to have taken place 44 years after the "victory of Mactan," delaying
Spanish colonization of the country by that much time. In the modern era, Lapu-lapu is
recognized as the first "Philippine national hero" to oppose foreign power.

- Yes, because Filipinos dedicated their lives and died fighting for their country, and those

- What conclusions can be drawn from the Mactan Battle Account. The Battle of Mactan
occurred as a result of a misunderstanding between the indigenous, who engaged in
furious combat because they intrinsically detested foreign invaders. The Philippine society
was already well-established before Magellan discovered the Philippine Archipelago.
