Diet Optimization for Mid-day Meals

Objective
This study is aimed to:

● Develop a healthy and balanced menu for underprivileged school going kids in
India
● Minimize the cost of providing the midday meals
● Minimize the quantity of food that will provide the sufficient nutrients
● Minimize wastage of food

Methodology
● The first phase is the data collection for the subjects, which includes their
socio demographic, anthropometry and diet recall.
● The second phase was the creation of a balanced diet model at a minimum
cost.
● The third and final phase was the finalization of the mid-day meal menu.

Timeframes
5 December - First Proposal Submission

6 - 10 December - Discussion of ideas with sir (1st meet)

26-30 December - Review of progress (Meet 2)

5 January - Project submission and presentation

Likely Output :
Provision of a nutrient packed optimized diet meal according to the tastes and
preferences of students in underprivileged communities at minimal cost. While also
reducing food wastage and eradication of deficiency related health conditions.
