You are on page 1of 2

In the forest that's not as lush as before, with a lot of bare trees, dead plants which are

above the barren land, there are animals who are trying to survive. Food is limited there. Not
just about the food, the temperature there is high because there's no tree that can hold and
cool the air. Luckily, water can be the solution to defend the heat. Yes, that is luck, but no
one knows how long the water will still be available for them.

Orangutans, birds, rabbits, crocodiles, lions and all the animals there live like usual at first.
Everything goes according to how the food chain exists. At least until a few of the trees in
there start to cut. These put he animals in trouble. They struggle to survive. In the beginning
they still can survive with help from each other, but as the time flows, one by one the animals
start to think differently. A few of them start to be controlled by their lust. They don't care
about each other anymore. Start from here, eat or be eaten comes into the effect.

From afar, there's an orangutan with a bunch of fruits, "Rura, Rura! Are you at home?"

"Wait! Hi Ut— WAHHHH, WHAT A LOT OF FRUITS!! You are so lucky, Utan!."

"Hehe, yes. I got a lot today. So, do you want to take some?"

"REALLY? Awww, thanks, Utan. HMMM, SO YUMMYYY. I'm so happy there's still animals
like you and the others in this forest. I hope all the forest dwellers can be like this."

"That's quite hard, but we can start it from— eh?"

Something attracts Utan's attention. There's a fight. Rura and Utan then go there quickly.

"Arghh, I can't take this anymore. Why do I need to obey you all with these things?!" Bari
said, who was a bear to a few animals in front of him.

"Bari, what do you mean?" Rura shouts to Bari automatically to warn him.

"Why are you still asking? Of course because I have power, I'm stronger than y'all here. I
should be the only one served here. Why should I do a kind of picking fruit or sharing water?
Ughh, That's weak!"

"Bari, why do you think like that? If we don't help and share with each other, we can end up
in the worst condition. Our population will drop drastically. We must try not to become
extinct. Together, as forest dwellers," Utan added.

"Together? Look at the other animals in there who were killing each other. Are they not
forest dwellers, of course they are, right? So tell me why they can but I can't?"

"We should not always duplicate what the others do, if what we do is right, then why not?
Maybe we can't change the other but we can start it from ourselves."

"B- but."
"Don't let your anger or even lust control you, Bari. That's how the animals there can be
wilder! They may feel more free than us and don't need to share about what they got, but
actually they are alone. There's something they can't get but we can," Utan said to calm
Bari.

Bari feels curious and asks Utan what it is. Utan then answered, "Friends. They don't have it,
but we have it. You have it, here! The warmth when we share with each other, they will not
feel it either, but we can because we are here together."

Bari sighs, he finally realises what he just did is completely wrong. Bari then apologized, "I'm
sorry Utan, Rura, and all. I'm sorry about what I just said and did to you. Would you forgive
me guys?"

"Of course, we would."

They then forgive Bari and hug Bari together.

This story tells us a moral that no matter how strong you are, when you lose your friends,
that's nothing again. If you are alone, no one will help you in danger, no one will hug you if
you in the worst feelings. As what Utan said, maybe we can't change the other but we can
start it from ourselves. So, if people around you don't start it, then just start it from you.
Believe in yourself, if what you do is right, rest assured that in the future what you do will
have a good impact. Just one can make a lot of difference.
