1. Summarize one (1) learning resource in 03 Readings: The Cavite Mutiny.


 The two sides of the mutiny at Cavite in 1872. The important events and many
viewpoints on what transpired at that time are discussed in an article from the National
Historical Commission of the Philippines authored by Chris Antonette Piedad-Pugay and
posted on September 5, 2012. The article also discusses how information can be
validated with factual proof to reveal the truth from both sides of the conflict.
2. State the viewpoint/s or argument/s in this resource.
 Despite the fact that there were two significant occurrences, one moved the others
along. The insurrection of the Filipinos and the martyrdom of the three friars Mariano
Gomes, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora collectively known as GOMBURZA are the two
primary events. The article examines two main points of view, one written by eminent
Spanish historian Jose Montero y Vidal and supported by Gov. Gen. Rafael Izquierdo's
official report on the claims, and the other by Dr. Trinidad Hermenigildo Pardo de
Tavera, a scholar and researcher from the Philippines, and supplemented by the account
of a French author by the name of Edmund Plauchut.
 The mutiny of 200 Filipino troops and employees at the Cavite arsenal is one of the
recurrent incidents that are subject to various interpretations. According to the Spanish
version of the incident, the mutiny was an effort to topple the incumbent administration
and was planned in advance, however according to the Filipino version of the incident, it
was due of a disagreement over taxation and forced labor.
3.What viewpoint do you believe in that resource? Explain why you believe in this particular
viewpoint.
 The article carefully examined and presented facts and different accounts to be
compared in order to provide a new sight to the readers of the source material. I believe
that the Filipino perspective does make sense and is more reliable due to the presented
evidence and logical supporting accounts of historian
