TASK 1

OBJECTIVE:
Identify the definitions of terms: evaluation: assessment: measuring: test
STUDENT:

TALLEDO ALCIVAR MAITE YAEL

DATE:10/12 /2023
Identify the concepts of

ASSESSMENT: It corresponds to a method to obtain information on student learning, in

addition this assessment allows the teacher to carry out educational decisions, the

evaluation may consist of test, interview, field diary, among others.

EVALUATION: It is a method that allows the teacher to know if the teaching he/she

wishes to impart conforms to the terms required for a certain type of education, this process

can use a test to establish a score of a preset criterion.

TEST: Allows the teacher to know if the student has the ability to master the subject, as

well as to determine how the student understands or carries out a certain activity of a

subject.

MEASUREMENT: Refers to procedures and principles for carrying out processes in

educational evaluations, this system consists of scores such as raw, derived, and standard

scores, this corresponds to the assessment in educational evaluations.

INSTRUMENT OF EVALUATION which are them, how are they used, and why are
they necessary?
The assessment instruments are cognitive instruments, attitudinal instruments, performance

assessments, direct vs. indirect assessments.

In the case of cognitive instruments they are used to assess the knowledge and thinking of

students, they can be multiple choice tests, attitudinal instruments are used to know the

preferences of students which can be Likert scales, performance assessments are used to

recognize the skills and behavior of students, this is done from a rubric, finally direct

instruments are used to lead the student to show skills we want to know, while indirect

measures require them to put into practice the skills that are evaluated (Holzman, Miesen &

Finney, n.d).
The evaluation instruments are of great importance for the teacher since they facilitate to

know the level, preference, and scope of teaching that the students have on the subject, in

addition they allow to direct the teaching towards the needs of the student. Without a doubt

the whole evaluation system and its instruments have a vital impact in the process of

academic formation.
