1. Important Concept

Learning sentences with movies refers to using the movies' script and dialogues of the
characters in order to assist the students’ comprehension toward English sentence creation. The
students will review knowledge regarding the element of sentence and the most used English
tenses in daily life. Moreover, the lesson will promote the creativity of creating appropriate
sentences in various situations. They will be able to create and use daily life sentences to describe
information and have conversation in different matters of time, as well as, have ability to use
English to communicate in more variety both writing and speaking.

2. Learning Standards

1. Explain and write sentences and texts related to various forms of non-text information
related to sentences and texts heard or read.
2. Converse and write to exchange data about themselves and various matters around
them, and communicate the data continuously and appropriately.
3. Speak and write to express needs and offer, accept and refuse to give help in simulated
or real situations.
4. Speak and write appropriately in terms of asking for and giving data, describing,
explaining, comparing and expressing opinions about matters/ issues/ news and
situations heard and read.
5. Speak and write to describe their own feelings and opinions about various matters,
activities, experiences and news/ incidents with proper reasoning.
6. Speak and write to present data themselves/experiences, news/incidents, matters and
various issues of interest to society.
7. Speak and write to express opinions about activities, experiences and incidents in the
local area, society and the world, as well as provide justifications and examples for
illustration.

3. Learning objectives

Terminal Objective: The students will be able use creativity of thoughts to create advanced
sentences corresponding with the variations of daily situations.

1. Understand the Structure of sentences.

2. Comprehend the different use of tenses.

3. Realize the various types of conversation used in the movie.

4. Create their own sentences to continue the story provided. (the scene in the movie)

5. Express the proper response both in speaking and writing to the assigned situations.

4. Content

Grammar: various grammatical aspects in movies.

Functional language: Communication, Speaking, Writing.

Vocabulary:Words in the movies that are real and practical.

Structure: Grammatical structures of tenses including past simple tense, present simple
tense, and future simple tense. The functions and positions of each part of speech such as
noun, verb, adjective, etc.

5. Procedures

5.1 Warm-up

1) Inquire students about their favorite movies, and why that movie is their favorite?
2) Ask students’ opinions about how movies are used for English learning ?

5.2 Presentation

3) Show one scene from the movie that has a conversation among characters.

4) Pause the video and inquire students about the vocabulary and grammar in the scene.
5) Let the students share their opinions as needed.

6) If the students have the misconceptions, the teacher will correct them by clarifying the

scene.

7) Repeat these steps until the students get the idea.
