Content (CAEP R1.2): Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply central concepts of content areas. Social Studies Alive!. Evidence: I taught an entire unit on Native Americans to a class of 5th grade students. Reflection: Not having @ mentor to lean on made this unit daunting, so I made sure to prepare adequately. Reading ahead and Narrative highlighting/taking notes for myself I had to get to know the content allowed me to get to know the content of the Native Americans unit in and out, especially since I nad pretty well, seeing es I taught it by myself, without assistance fron a nentor teacher. To help myself prepare to teach the never taught 5th grade social studies before. By reflecting on the Michigan Common Core Standards often, I was _ read the text, able to ensure my lessons focused on highlighted important concepts deemed really important and information fram the text, and it allowed me to have sone wiggle room took my own personal notes on with less important information if 1 key concepts within the tex:.
