This is Detective Recapped.

Today, I'm going to explain a Comedy-Fantasy film

called: "The Hot Chick." Spoilers ahead! Watch out and take care. The Hot Chick
begins as most great stories do: in 50 BC. Set on avoiding an arranged marriage,
an Abyssinian princess swaps bodies with a servant girl using the most unlikely
object – a pair of earrings. As intriguing as this story is, we’re not here for that, no.
So we must journey on to a much more interesting setting: modern-day high
school. There, the beautiful but mean cheerleader, Jessica Spencer, makes an
overweight girl named dress like one of their rivals just to make fun of her. The girl
is humiliated by the audience, but Jessica doesn't feel bad about it. Being pretty
and mean, Jessica has a way with getting what she wants, and she even manages
to convince their vice principal to give them passes so she and her girls can
practice their new dance routines. Afterwards, Jessica goes to the mall with her
friends, April, Keecia, and Lulu. Here, Jessica uses her charm on a clerk to get
some free drinks. They also see Jessica's archnemesis, Bianca, who gets in
trouble after Jessica slips a piece of bikini in her bag. Before leaving, the girls enter
an African-themed store that sells some supposedly ancient things. A saleslady
refuses to sell her a pair of Abyssinian earrings since they’re a genuine artifact, so
naturally, Jessica goes and steals them. Meanwhile, small-time crook Clive
Maxtone robs a local gas station and gathers a small amount of cash. Jessica and
her friends arrive there, and as she tries on her earring, she mistakes Clive for a
gas attendant. She asks him for a full service for her car, all while she and her girls
make fun of him the entire time.
Once they leave, Clive finds the other earring Jessica unknowingly dropped. When
Jessica gets home, she gets annoyed at her little brother, Booger, for trying on her
undergarments and going through her stuff. However, she ends up pitying him,
seeing as his school bully gave him a black eye. She helps him cover the bruise
with makeup, but she soon gets irritated again when she realizes that he’s wearing
her lipstick. That night, Jessica sneaks out of their house to meet her boyfriend,
Billy. The couple kisses under a tree, and Jessica repeatedly refuses his invitation
to come snowboarding with him. Jessica tells him that she won't sleep with him
since she wants that special moment to happen perfectly, so Billy promises to wait
for her. Meanwhile, at his house, Clive puts on Jessica's earring. The next day,
Jessica wakes up as normal save for one minor detail: she’s now in Clive’s body.
Of course, the girl-turned-man is horrified. After failing to call April, Jessica steals
her father’s clothes before leaving the house. Meanwhile, Clive wakes up in
Jessica’s body and has the same reaction as her. When Jessica finally reaches
April and asks her to meet her, April wonders if she's sick since she sounds so
different. She's also worried because their cheerleading competition is only a week
away, but Jessica tells her they have bigger problems.
Eventually, April meets Jessica while she's inside Clive's body and of course, April
doesn't believe a word she says. Jessica tries explaining what happened to her,
but April uses her pepper spray on her friend, causing her to slip from the benches
and fall to the stadium. As April flees, Jessica talks to her about their childhood
memories and the necklace she gave her, proving that she is telling the truth. Now
convinced, April gives Jessica her keys and instructs her to wait for her at her
house. At April's place, April informs Jessica that she told her mother, Carol, she's
going on a ski trip with Billy. She then helps remove Jessica's body hair, and after
that, she asks her if she can see her manhood. Shocked, Jessica quips that April
doesn’t understand the gravity of their situation, but April just ignores her and
insists on seeing Clive’s member. Finally, Jessica yields, and April is impressed.
She playfully towel-whips her around the room before hitting her toes on the bed,
making her curse loudly. Downstairs, April's mother is worried about what her
daughter is up to. She tells her husband that April's been overeating and shows
him her hairy soap, but April's father isn't worried. Later that night, Jessica calls
Billy and tells him she should've made love to him when she had the chance, but
Billy doesn't recognize her voice.
The next day, Jessica and April bring Keecia and Lulu up to speed, and Jessica
even shows them her private parts, too. Jessica is anxious that she won't return to
her body in time for the competition and prom, so the girls start brainstorming on
how this even happened. Suddenly, Keecia and Lulu suggest that the people who
hate Jessica are responsible for what's happening to her, so April gently explains
to Jessica that some people find her jokes offensive. The girls then start a pillow
fight, which leads to Jessica knocking out her friends. In the morning, Jessica gets
a hard-on, much to her embarrassment. She then goes to their house, where her
father, Richie, mistakes her for a gardener. Richie says that’s his daughter's
responsibility, and after Jessica introduces herself as Taquito, Richie leaves her to
work on the lawn. After that, Richie gives Jessica a bottle of beer and tells her to
take a break before sharing with her their family problems. Jessica is surprised to
learn that her parents' marriage is falling apart, and as a bit of TMI, Richie admits
that sleeping with his wife used to feel great.
Of course, there’s nothing that Jessica can do about this, but he thanks her
nonetheless for listening to him. As he leaves, Jessica sees her brother dressed in
her clothes and singing along to some song. Jessica's friends pick her up after her
work, and they take her to Hildenburg, who is the first suspect on their list.
However, Hildenburg proves she has nothing to do with Jessica's appearance, and
after Jessica apologizes for humiliating her, the two of them eventually get along.
They then visit their Wiccan classmate, Eden, but she has nothing to do with what
happened to Jessica, either. Still, she helps them by saying that a Latin-based form
of witchcraft, Santeria, could be the reason why Jessica has turned into a man.
After Eden tells the girls of its origins, Jessica's friends deduce that Bianca is the
culprit. Eden also shows them the scorpion tattoo of a Santeria practitioner, so
Jessica's friends decide to find her at a dance club in the evening.
Jessica's friends take her to the salon for a makeover, and April soon realizes that
she's starting to like Jessica—or Clive, to be more accurate. Jessica also tries to
get free drinks from the same store clerk before, but of course, her trick doesn’t
work anymore, and the guy gets mad at her. That night, Jessica dances with
Bianca to see if she has a scorpion tattoo on her back, but she doesn't find it.
Jessica then goes to the bathroom and reluctantly pees. She ends up needing the
restroom attendant’s help since she’s made a fool of herself in front of a guy, and
she can’t stop making a mess. As Jessica returns to her friends, the guy from the
restroom flirts with Eden, making her uncomfortable. Annoyed, Jessica steps in
and slaps him, which in turn pisses the guy off. The guy and his chums drag
Jessica outside, and everyone watches them fight. Though Jessica gets hurt, she
eventually beats the guy and even manages to pull out half of his hair.
At school, April talks to her boyfriend, Jake, and learns that he's cheating on her
upon seeing kiss marks on his neck. April then convinces Jessica to apply as their
school janitor, and she's able to charm their vice principal into hiring her. After
filling out the security form and signing them with her fingerprints, Jessica goes to
the boys' restroom to talk to Billy. However, Billy won't even listen to her and
leaves. Meanwhile, Clive, who’s still in Jessica’s body, finds a box of tampons. He
finds it pretty hard to believe that he has to do what he needs to do with it. Jessica
continues to work as her family's gardener, Taquito, and while playing basketball
with her father one time, she asks him how his marriage is. Jessica suggests that
Richie should try being more sensitive towards his wife, which makes Richie think.
The two ‘men’ continue their game, and as Booger watches them, he can’t help but
wonder why the gardener’s movements look so familiar. Booger also gets Jessica’s
note that says she’s at April’s, so when Carol asks him where his sister is, Booger
says she just missed her.
Outside, Jessica almost confesses to her father about who she really is but
decides against it. She then tells him that she thinks he's the best father in the
world, and Richie appreciates that. Unbeknownst to them, Carol is watching them
from inside the house. That evening, Jessica and her friends are finally able to
identify the source of her problem thanks to Eden’s help. They immediately bring
the earring back to the store, where its owner, Madame Mambuza, tells them the
myth about Princess Nawa. Madame Mambuza says the princess used the pair of
earrings to escape a bad marriage, not knowing that she had to put them back
together. Because of that mistake, Princess Nawa lived out the rest of her life as a
slave. She then advises the girls to bring the earrings back together before the full
moon ends, or the change will become permanent. Jessica and the girls put up
posters everywhere to find the lost earring.
Then, while cleaning the men's shower room one day, Jessica listens to Jake and
Billy's conversation about her and April. Jake is proud to have April as his side
chick, and as he tries to talk Billy into dating another girl, Billy tells him how much
he loves Jessica. Meanwhile, a mugshot of Clive is sent to the vice principal's
office, but it gets covered by a tube announcement. Back at the Spencer
residence, Jessica's mother catches her looking for her earring in her bedroom.
Instead of making a scene, as most people would, Carol asks if she can help her
look for something, and Jessica quickly makes an excuse about her earring falling
into the lawnmower and ricocheting straight to that room. Carol’s very sleazy smile
makes it clear that she wants to do very sleazy things with “him”, and she invites
Jessica over for some snacks. Jessica eats, and she’s put in a world of suffering as
Carol prepared some very spicy Mexican dishes for her. But when Carol laughs,
Jessica softens, and she mentions that it’s been a while since she heard her laugh.
Carol stares at her for some moments before suddenly getting on the table so she
can dive in and kiss Jessica. Of course, Jessica frantically wards off Carol’s
advances, and though Carol calms down for a second, she goes in for the kill
again. But with Jessica going on about how unnatural getting it on with Carol would
be for her, Carol deduces that she likes men, and Jessica confirms this.
Embarrassed, Carol pulls back, thinking about what she’s done, but Jessica cheers
her up by sincerely reminding her how beautiful she is and that she has a husband
who wants to be with her so bad. Then, she giddily offers to wash her hair and
paint her toes, and this makes Carol happy since Jessica used to do that for her.
Later on, Richie catches Jessica giving Carol a back scrub, but he doesn't let her
explain.
Instead, he tells Jessica to go away before making sweet, sweet love to his wife.
Later that night, Jessica regretfully tells April how she's taken everybody and
everything for granted. As they talk, Jake calls and asks if he can come over to
April's place, but Jessica answers the phone and uses Clive's deep voice to insult
him. She also makes it sound like April's already with another man, and April
thanks her for it. They then talk about love, with Jessica telling April what it feels
like to finally find the right person, and since April is starting to have feelings for
Clive, she suggests they attend prom together. Jessica quickly agrees with her,
and as she pees, April's mother overhears her from outside the room. Meanwhile,
a depressed Billy sees and approaches Clive on the street, thinking it's Jessica. He
tells Clive he'll do anything for him, so Clive takes advantage of that and asks for
money and his car keys. Clive then takes his car and tries to run him over, but Billy
manages to get out of the way. During the regional state cheer competition,
Jessica dresses up as a mascot and shows Billy their love hand signal, proving
that she loves him. She then performs with her teammates and dances perfectly,
but her head suit falls off, shocking everyone at the last minute.
However, Jessica's team still wins, but she gets disappointed upon seeing Billy
leave with Bianca. Later on, Hildenburg sees Clive on the news as he uses
Jessica's body to rob men. She immediately calls April and tells her she found
Jessica's body, but it's April's mother who hears her voice message, causing her to
fall over the staircase railing. At the Spencer residence, Booger sees Jessica in
Clive's body and immediately knows it's his sister. Jessica asks Booger why he
didn't snitch on her, and the boy says it's because she's his sister, and he accepts
her for who she is. At school, the vice principal finally sees Clive's mugshots. Prom
night comes, and Hildenburg goes to the alleyway where Clive was last seen and
finds a club card. April and Jessica then arrive at school together, while April's
mother reveals to Carol that Jessica hasn't been staying in her house. April's
mother is determined to find out where Jessica and April are hiding, but April's
father threatens to have her put away if she ruins April's night. Irritated, April's
mother hurriedly leaves in her car, only to crash into a delivery truck. Back at the
prom, April makes Jake jealous by kissing Jessica and confesses she's in love with
her. However, Jessica tells her confused friend that she doesn't need anyone to
make herself feel special, but poor April insists that she can't help but have feelings
for her. Resigned, Jessica warmly hugs her friend, and with that, she decides to
talk to Billy, unaware that the vice principal has already called the cops.
Jessica headbutts Bianca and confesses to Billy who she really is, telling him
things only the two of them know to prove she's not lying. She then tells Billy to
close his eyes so she can kiss him, but Billy finds that disgusting and walks away.
Meanwhile, Eden, Lulu, and Hildenburg look for Jessica, since they already know
how to help her. April quickly tells Jessica that they've found her body, and she
reluctantly leaves with her. Jessica's family calls the cops while Jessica and the
girls trace Clive to the Pole Cat Club. Clive works there as a dancer, and when
Jessica and her friends confront him to get Jessica's body back, he refuses. He
then tries to make a deal with Jessica, asking her to let him make another $500 for
the night before he returns her body. Clive also asks her to loan him her body
every other weekend so he can pay his debts, but Jessica gets mad and strangles
him, demanding to have the earring back.
Then, the club manager breaks them apart, and Jessica successfully takes the
other earring from Clive. Meanwhile, Billy and Jake arrive at the club, and Jake
sees him and asks Clive for a dance. Though April’s rather sad that Jessica’s
returning to her body, she still helps her put the earrings on. Eventually, Clive and
Jessica return to their respective bodies. Now back to normal, Jessica hugs her
friends while Clive is taken away by the cops. Jessica also tries to explain to Billy
what's happened to her, but Billy doesn't really mind and reconciles with her. While
everyone is busy, Clive exits the police car and quickly flees. Jessica and her
friends graduate high school, while Clive continues to run away from the cops.
Eventually, he is abducted by a bartender, who was eyeing Jessica while she was
in Clive's body the last time she was at his club.
