"Sushi Mentai, The Ideal Sushi for All”

Sushi Mentai, a Japanese cuisine restaurant, was established on 27 August 2010 in Malaysia
under the name SUSHI MENTAI JAPANESE RESTAURANT SDN. BHD. Since 2010, Sushi
Mentai has been serving exquisite Japanese cuisine with the philosophy to bring affordable and
quality Japanese food to the masses, allowing all to enjoy Japanese delicacies against a modern
and casual backdrop (Sushi Mentai, 2022).

From the outside, Sushi Mentai looks like a modern Japanese restaurant that suits the theme and
shows their restaurant name in English and Kanji outside the restaurant. Inside the restaurant,
there were lots of sushi on small plates with different colors and being carried by the conveyor
belt sushi.

Moreover, Sushi Mentai serves tasteful Japanese cuisine to customers that uses superior
ingredients and condiments mostly imported from Japan in order to satisfy the customers (Sushi
Mentai, 2022). Sushi Mentai also offers dine-in, take away and delivery to customers.

Furthermore, Sushi Mentai has many outlets which are available and located in Malaysia and
Singapore. We went to the branch at Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur .It is available from Monday
to Friday from 12 pm to 9:30pm and Saturday to Sunday, from 11.30am to 10pm.

The interesting factor about Sushi Mentai is that it serves its salmon sushi to customers at the
price of RM 2.80 that’s created using fresh salmon, top-quality mayonnaise and Grade A
mentaiko (Bangsar babe. 2016). Therefore, Sushi Mentai is well known and liked for serving
salmon sushi to customers because it’s affordable compared to other Japanese restaurants.

Diagram 1 shows a famous Malaysian celebrity, named “Gan Mei Yan” who is advertising for
Sushi Mentai.

From the outside, the place looks neat and clean. Not to mention, the interior was tidy as well.
The seats were comfortable, the food was presented in a high-quality manner. A perfect lighting
was set for the brunch we devoured.

As you’d expect from Sushi Mentai, we ordered two types

of sushi to fulfill our appetite. Firstly, we tried the seaweed
sushi. It is a sushi that contains raw seaweed and a handful
amount of rice at the bottom. It was cheap as chips. The
price was at RM1.80 per plate. It is only worth the price if
you love the taste of seaweed. Not all of us enjoyed the taste
of seaweed. It gives out a “raw taste” sensation. But for the
price capped at RM1.80 for a plate, it is totally worth a
taste.
 The other sushi that we had was called the Salmon Mentai.
This sushi was finger licking good. We would totally
recommend it. The price was at RM2.80 for 2 pieces.
Although it is slightly costly it was totally worth it. It was
also covered in a creamy mayonnaise sauce which really
outshined the dish. The rice below the salmon was cooked
to perfection. Just by the smell of it, you can already taste
it!

Sushi Mentai restaurant caters to a very wide variety of people, and all ages are welcome to dine
in. It’s a little hard to gauge the right audience that is most popular to dine at this restaurant, as
their delicious Japanese food draws the attention of all. However, most of them are usually
individuals that are working or young adults. Sushi Mentai offers incredibly quality Japanese
food at an affordable price, which makes this place an ideal meal time spot for many
foodies.Moreover, younger kids will appreciate the delicious delicacies that the restaurant has to
offer. One of the reasons why Sushi Mentai appeals to so many people is their ability to
empathize with customers to secure that loyalty to the brand. Many of their branches are in or
near residential areas, which makes access to the branches very convenient for many people. The
overall environment in the restaurant is comfortable and not very noisy which many people can
appreciate.

Sushi Mentai is a kaiten-zushi restaurant which means conveyor belt sushi. The conveyor belt
carries plates of sushi around the restaurant. It is a self-service restaurant with refillable green
tea. Sushi Mentai’s rival restaurant is Sushi King.

Both restaurants have a wide variety of sushi choices but Sushi King is more expensive than
Sushi Mentai as their sushi price range is from (RM2.20-RM6.60) while Sushi Mentai offers the
same sushi at (RM1.80-RM2.80).

However, Sushi King has a whooping 120 outlets in Malaysia while Sushi Mentai only has 20
outlets in Malaysia and that is why Sushi King is more popular than Sushi Mentai.

In conclusion, we would totally recommend Sushi Mentai for a perfect afternoon. The place was
quaint and alive with customers, thus proving the fact that the food rating is off the charts. There
is absolutely no reason why one should not burn their wallets at Sushi Mentai. (778 words)
