1. INTRODUCTION

A person's character can be evaluated with the help of an instrument called a personality test. The terms
"personality testing" and "personality assessment" refer to methods that are designed to examine the consistent
patterns of attributes that individuals display in a variety of contexts. When describing a person's personality,
it's helpful to think of it as a mosaic of fixed qualities and characteristics that lends the person's actions stability
and distinction. Traits are at the core of personality psychology, making them a crucial term. Personal traits are
what set us apart and shape how we act. Someone once defined themselves as a courteous or genuine individual.

Personality, as contrast to attributes, is a person's defining features, which include their consistent ways
of thinking, feeling, and acting (Pervin, Cervone & John, 2005, p. 6). However, traits are made up of two parts:
the descriptive, which focuses on the specifics of the acts reflected by the trait, and the evaluative, which
considers the trait's social desirability (Sarah E. Hampson, 1989). Emotions, goals, worldviews, and the sense of
self all make up the "system of pieces" that make up a person's personality (John D Mayer, 2007).

In order to acquire a clear picture of a person's character, psychologists and researchers often ask
individuals questions about themselves and how they relate to other aspects of interest. For this examination,
pupils will need to take a personality test in the same way that we did. The 'Sidek Personality Inventory Test,'
created by the UiTM counseling department, was administered to students. On the other hand, some think that a
person's behavior can be predicted more accurately if we look at their personality traits. In the following lines, I
will describe how the personality test I just completed relates to me.
2. SIDEK PERSONALITY INVENTORY TEST

The Sidek Personality Inventory Test, sometimes known as the IPS, is comprised of sixteen scales and
can be used to evaluate fifteen distinct personality traits. This test consists of 160 questions and can be used to
evaluate different aspects of a person's personality. This test of personality is designed to find out the unique
characteristics that are associated with each individual's identity. The results of an examination can be of great
use in helping a candidate decide what kind of career path they might want to pursue in the future. It is possible
to boost a candidate's likelihood that they will enjoy their vocation by learning more about the personality type
they possess. There are a total of 16 different personality types that can be determined through the use of the
Sidek Personality Test. These personality types include: aggressive, analytical, autonomous, dependent,
extroverted, introverted, intellectual, variety, endurance, self-critics, controlling, helping, supportive, structure,
achievement, and honesty (IPS).

2.1 THE RESULTS

Regarding my own personality, I feel like the test was eerily accurate (as far as I know about myself).
From the total of 16 personality traits collected by the exam, I will describe the three that were most accurate in
describing me, the one that was moderately accurate, and the one that was least accurate. Aggressive, Helpful,
Introverted, Supportive, and Self-Critical are the top five characteristics. There are 16 correct personality
qualities, including these, and I can go into greater detail about any of them if necessary. Moreover, I hope to
better define my own strengths and flaws, some of which I may not even be aware of.

2.2 TOP 3 TRAITS WITH HIGHEST ACCURACY

To begin, the aggressive character trait best describes me. According to my calculations, this defect in
character merits a 60% rating. An aggressive person fits this profile if they are harshly judgmental of others,
hostile to authority, and unwilling to back down from a challenge (Dr. Sidek Mohd Noah). The test suggests
that someone with a low score in this area is passive and gives other people too much emotional influence over
them. Because I am not good at holding my ground in potentially manipulative situations, this description fits
me perfectly. Additionally, I have heard from loved ones that I am often too passive, which makes me an
inviting target for both verbal and physical abuse. Because of this, I am not proud of myself; nevertheless, I am
aware that this is one of my shortcomings that I need to concentrate on improving. For instance, I once had a
friend who constantly demanded things of me, knowing full well that I had no idea how to say no to her and
was too terrified to risk our friendship by saying so. There was another time that I was able to express my
feelings regarding an issue that had been hurting me. After that, the person gaslighted me into thinking that I
was the one who had started the fight and was doing it even now.

The second most accurate feature for me is the Helpful trait. Individuals who are helpful enjoy
displaying or exhibiting compassion, such as tenderness, as well as providing assistance and doing good for
others (Dr. Sidek Mohd Noah). I earned an 80% on the test for that characteristic. I may claim that I relate to
this and that it accurately describes how I am. I am the type of person who enjoys assisting others when they
require a place to vent or guidance. I'd be happy to listen and/or give counsel to individuals in need, and if I
could help solve the problem, I would. Though I am not adept at addressing problems for others, I would
attempt. Helping others is satisfying to me, and I find it relaxing to know that I helped that person and that
person is grateful. This quality has helped me connect with others more and has benefited me in a variety of
ways. My step-grandmother motivated me to be more of this trait, and I would always look up to her in this
regard because she is a really helpful person. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, but occasionally it
became too much for her, and others began to take advantage of her. What mom constantly said to me stuck
with me: "There is nothing wrong with helping people all the time, no matter what the situation is because what
you give to people, you will get back, and if you assist others, others will help you too in the future." That
motivated me to be more physically and mentally helpful to others.

that is most accurate to me

The second trait

would be the Helpful trait. Helpful

refers to individuals that like
showing or expressing compassion
such as affection, as
well as providing assistance and
doing good for others (Dr. Sidek
Mohd Noah). I
received a high score of 80% for that
trait from the test. I could say that I
relate to this
and it is very accurate with how
I am. I am the type of person
who loves to help
people in situations where they are in
need of a place to rant, or when they
are in need
The third trait that I find most
accurate with myself would be
Self-critics. To
define self-critics, it refers to an act
or occurrence of critically evaluating
one's own
self. I got a score of 80% of this trait
from this test and I would say I am
not proud of
it. This high score is frequently
linked to a person who has sense
of helplessness,
worry, guilt about what he or she
has done, or a lack of belief that
he or she has
accomplished something worthwhile.
Self-criticism tends to be a negative
thing as it
involves destroying your self-
confidence and worth that leads to
increasing your self-
doubts. This trait has made me
fall behind in a lot of aspects and
it disturbed my
motivation in going through my
everyday life sometimes. I would
sometimes think
that every inconvenience that
happened would be my fault even
though it is not. Other
than that, thinking that I am not
worthy of achieving something big
or successful

it. It can get too negative at some point and it is likely unhealthy. This made me wanting to get
reassurance from the people around me too constantly to ease myself into thinking that nothing is wrong. I
do realise this as I grow older and have been controlling it a lot compared to my past, though it is like a
rollercoaster. Sometimes it is up, sometimes it is down.

2.3 TOP 1 TRAIT WITH MODERATE ACCURACY

The trait that I somewhat relate to and moderately accurate to is the Introvert trait. What it means by
introvert is that individuals that reveal they prefer to avoid situations that need them to communicate
with others and prefer to perform tasks alone. In the test I scored 80% and for those who got a high score in
this trait shows that person is an unsocial individual and like to avoid situations that force them to
communicate. they are more comfortable with a work setting alone or one on one (Dr. Sidek Mohd Noah). This
trait is moderately accurate to me because I do not feel this way all the time. I would say that I am more of an
ambivert, which means someone who is both an introvert and extrovert and can socialize most of the time
but other moments prefer to be alone. For instance, there are times where I need to be around people to just
avoid the lonely feeling and other times where I want to be alone and enjoy my own company. The reason why
is because my social battery can drain out easily after socializing and from there, I would not feel like talking
to other people and making new friends. What I noticed from being an ambivert is that I get to be
balanced with myself and to others such as still managing to keep a good connection with people while I get to
enjoy my own space sometimes. Personally, I do not see this trait as a bad thing and it can aid one9s self in
dividing time with other people and with your own self.

2.4 TOP 1 TRAIT WITH LOWEST ACCURACY

On to the last trait that I least relate to and that is less accurate, is the Supportive trait.
Supportive is where it indicates an individual that needs attention, sympathy and wants to be loved. The
score that I got from the test is 80%. It stated in the test that those who have a high score shows that an
individual who has a desire to be loved, understood and gained sympathy. The combination with a low
score for personality trait helps show you are a very selfish individual (Dr Sidek Mohd Noah). From
this test, it is not accurate with who I am because I am not keen in wanting only sympathy from other people
as it is not a main desire from me. To say that sometimes I have the feel to be loved and understood by
someone, yes that is me. Though, it is not a constant occurrence. Most people would have the need or feel to be
understood by other people in order to feel like they are not a problem or they are normal because it depends on
situations where people want opinions from other people towards a certain matter. While other times,
people do not really need it as they already know and they do not emotionally depend on other people.
I am in the percentage where I am in the middle, where I would want to be understood, and the other
I only emotionally depend on my own self. For example, there are times where I want to be understood and
loved deeply by my mother because I have been lacking in there. After a while, I do not have the need to
constantly gain sympathy and emotional dependency on my mother anymore.

On to the last trait that I least

Supportive trait. Supportive is

3. SELF-IMPROVEMENT

Upon looking through the findings of the test, I have come to the conclusion that it is to your advantage
and absolutely necessary to engage in "self-improvement" in order to learn more in-depth information about the
characteristics that we have recently found out about. Self-improvement can be defined as the process of
becoming a better version of oneself via the examination and modification of one's own behaviors and
characteristics. When you work on bettering yourself, you give yourself the opportunity to reflect on the choices
you've made in the past and acquire new knowledge on how to grow and become a more developed version of
yourself. Aside from that, you are able to determine your strengths and shortcomings so that you can steer clear
of repeating the identical errors. When going through with this procedure, it may serve as both a source of
inspiration and a way to motivate oneself.

On the basis of the characteristics that I have outlined, there are quite a number of mine that require
adjustment and enhancement. For instance, if I have the aggressive trait, I shouldn't be too easy on other people
because that can lead to my being exploited. I should also avoid being too harsh on myself. That experience
taught me how to politely decline an offer and how to successfully navigate interactions of that nature.
Whenever I engage in self-criticism, I need to remember not to be overly critical of myself and instead focus on
developing the ability to maintain a more optimistic outlook and point of view. If I did this, I would experience
less self-degradation. You should most likely start keeping a journal every day in which you jot down the things
for which you are grateful. Aside from that, this has helped me become more conscious of the activities that I
should engage in less of and the activities that I should engage in more of. My awareness and outlook on life
have both improved as a result of this.

The application of self-improvement can also help us become more fully realized versions of ourselves.
Provide a clearer picture of what our characteristics are meant to signify and how they influence our lives and
the lives of those around us. This procedure has the potential to improve my abilities and get me closer to
realizing my aspirations. Taking one's time and making gradual changes is the key to success.

4. CONCLUSION

Completing the Sidek Personality Inventory has been helpful to me in a lot of different ways, some of
which I thought I would never think of on my own. Because of this, I now have a better understanding of my
characteristics, which has enabled me to determine both my limitations and my strengths. In addition, I am now
aware of the reasons behind the ways in which I behave, as well as the names given to the various patterns of
behavior. After going through this test, I was astonished to find out how little I truly know about myself. The
truth is that there is a great deal more about my personality that I have not yet fully uncovered, and this is true
of other individuals as well. People have the misconception that they have a good understanding of us,
including themselves, even if this is not the case.

I'm grateful I had the opportunity to take this personality test for education, since without it, I wouldn't
have a clue where to begin if I wanted to better myself. Taking the IPS test helped me realize my strengths and
weaknesses, and steer clear of situations that would have been detrimental had I not prepared myself.
