1.2. Provide insights into your personality (use your words – minimum 200 words)

- What does Myers Brigg tell you about your personality?

Myers Brigg tells me that I have Extravert (75%) intuitive (34%) Feeling (6%) Judging
(19%). In detail:
 I have distinct preference of Extraversion over Introversion (75%)
 I have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (34%)
 I have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (6%)
 I have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (19%)
-

- To what extent do you agree with your M-B research?

I do agree that I have preference of being extravert over introvert because I have always
working with people, going out, meeting friends. As in our current situation of corona
outbreak I am having very hard time working from home.

I am more inclined to intuition while performing task after analyzing the situation than sensing
what is going to happen. As well I agree that I take decision considering one feeling as well, I
am more of empathetic person.

- Is there anything that you disagree with in your M-B analysis?

I disagree that I have a preference of judgement over perceiving which is complete opposite. I
perceive things while studying, working, taking decision than judging the situation.

- What is your chosen career and isand is your M- B analysis consistent with this?

My chosen career is build my own big organization, I am planning to have an educational

organization back in my country and It is not consistent with M-B analysis consistent with this
because it says ENFJs are one of the most “universal” personality types and they build
successful careers in a broad range of organizations and occupations such as sales, various
social services, counseling, teaching, healthcare, community care as well as legal and paralegal
services. I want to run a company not work as high rank manager in a company.

1.3. Provide an insightful commentary on the following case study.

Professional Year 2015

“One of your colleagues, Faye, has an MBTI Personality Style of INFJ (Introverted iNtuitive
Feeling Judging). She is quite an “intense” person, who is often very suspicious of the motives
of the people she works with. Research (on the web) how your personality style, and that of
Faye, would interact, and write a short text (no more than 250 words) about this, and
summarisesummaries whether your personalities would “clash” or “complement” each other.”

As per the MBTI personality result, I think my ENFJ will be complement to the Faye’s INFJ
because
we shared traits: intuition, feeling, and judging. The two types differ only in out tendencies
toward introversion and extraversion, and that’s not all bad. As ENFJ personality type, I tend
to be warm, genuine, and empathetic in their behavior which means I can change her
suspicious behavior with my empathy and warm nature. I will build trust between each other
which will makes us both competent to each other than having clash between each other.

Part 2 Emotional Intelligence

Average EQ
You have slightly above average EQ   – with room to grow! You are likely
sensitive to the emotional climate of the people around you when you and they –
peers, friends, family and key clients – are under pressure. You are aware of the
effect your behavior has on others.   While you may be adept at tuning into others
and their needs – you must remember your own. Don’t be afraid to honestly
communicate these difficult needs and feelings.   This is one of the most important
aspects of Emotional Intelligence: being able to skillfully air your grievances.
Things to consider: What situations generally create pressure and stress for you?
How are you handling these situations? What negative thoughts play over and
over in your mind on a regular basis? Are these a true picture of reality? When
you are triggered emotionally, what are some of your less effective default
Professional Year 2015

behaviors?   If you can learn to be more aware of when emotions are driving your
behavior and stay calm in   your high pressure moments, you will see a big increase
in your Emotional Intelligence, which will lead to  increased performance
and more effective relationships – at work and at home!
Professional Year 2015

2.1. Provide insights into your emotional intelligence

- What strengths do you have and why?

My strengths are Social awareness and self- management followed by self-awareness and
Relationship Management because of the following:

 I can maintain standards of honesty and integrity, managing myself and

responsibilities; and adaptability, which is the flexibility in adapting to changing
situations and overcoming obstacles; achievement orientation, which is the guiding
drive to meet an internal standard of excellence; and initiative, which is the readiness
to seize opportunities and act.

 Ability to read the currents of organizational life, build decision networks and navigate
politics; and service orientation, which is recognizing and meeting customer’s needs,

 Ability to understand my emotions as well as recognize their impact on work

performance and relationships; accurate self-assessment, where I am able to give a
realistic evaluation of my strengths and limitations; and self-confidence, where I have a
positive and strong sense of one’s self-worth.

 Ability to exercise a wide range of persuasive strategies with integrity, and also
includes listening and sending clear, convincing and well-tuned messages; change
catalyst, which is the proficiency in initiating new ideas and leading people in a new
direction; conflict management, which is resolving disagreements and collaboratively
Professional Year 2015

developing resolutions; building bonds, which is building and maintaining

relationships with others; and teamwork and collaboration, which is the promotion of
cooperation and building of teams

- What do you aim to improve about your emotional intelligence?

I want to improve my relationship management because it comprises of seven competencies
which everyone needs for their growth and success.

- How will you go about it.

I will work on my feedback and guidance, persuasive strategy, conflict management and team
work and collaboration to inspire and influence others to build strong relationship.

2.2. Get a friend to evaluate your emotional intelligence

“Ask another student or close friend, who knows you well and has ideally worked with you
before, to repeat the test, but not for themselves!! Ask them to complete it the way that they
think you are. It is important that they do this on their own, without any help from you!! So, for
example, in question 1 – I do not become defensive when criticized – you may have put
“agree”, whereas their observation of you is that you do become defensive, so they put
“disagree”!
At the end of the test, record the information below about your EQ as observed by someone
else.”

Discuss below the reasons for the gap between your assessment and your partners assessment
of you.
Professional Year 2015

Discuss below the reasons for the gap between your assessment and your partners assessment
of you.

The main reason for the gap between my assessment and my friend’s assessment of mine is
that I have started looking after myself. As I talked to friend after his assessment, he said I
have trying to learn about myself and understand myself. When he says that, I come to realize
that I have started to look after myself thinking that unless I do not understand myself, how
would I understand others and their emotions. I am still working on my empathy traits so that I
can have a better social awareness where I can look outward to learn others and appreciate
them properly.

How is this useful in the workplace?

Professional Year 2015

I think this is very useful in the workplace because as you go up in the workplace, you should
be able to understand others and you should be able to appreciate other, respect their emotion
and should be able to show sensitivity towards their situation, which in turns build good and
strong relationship in the workplace, the key to success in every field has always been working
a strong team which is built on trust and understanding each other.

when they are going wrong even though they have not ask me to show them the way.

 What do you need to improve? E.g. are you aggressive rather than assertive? are you to
timid and don’t speak up when appropriate?
My result shows that I have ability to speak for myself up to 90 out of 100, I should work on
staying like that by respecting and understanding others as well, I do not want to be
disrespectful while I am being assertive. my personality stays assertive rather than aggressive.
