Emotion

Why do we feel emotion?

We have at least asked ourselves that question even once in our life.

Why emotions exist? Why can’t I just feel one positive emotion, such as joy? Or happiness? Why must I
feel negative emotions such as sadness, anger, or anxiety?

Here I am to discuss with you the importance of feeling each emotion and why we can not just ignore
and suppress any one of these emotions

Just like a scale there is a balance in everything. A whole machine cannot function properly with one cog
missing. Amongst emotions wherein, in joy we get something we care about, in sadness means we lose
something we care about. Given that context, we need both emotions to realize what is important to us
and what is not.

Emotions plays a vital role in our daily lives while we thrive, it is influential and contagious, even if we
are not paying attention to emotions, we are more likely to catch on each other’s emotional state,
nonetheless. This has a science behind this, whereas a social creature we are more likely to survive if we
can sense the emotions in the air being able to recognize and react quickly to danger. With this, we
should be totally mindful of our emotions.

Emotions helps us motivate ourselves to pursue what is valuable and crucial for us especially at that
specific moment. Whether it is the dog running after us and us having the drive to run away from the
dog, or with joy that focuses our attention on an opportunity and what we are currently doing

Assessing emotions thoroughly is important, feeling and reacting are two different ideas, not all
emotions should be expressed outward without prior assessment, we should still be mindful of our
actions and not let emotion sway us like a leaf in the wind.

IN conclusion, we feel emotions to let us know what are the important thing for us, it helps us be
connected with everything around us, and it is important to have a better grasp of our emotions so we
can express what we truly feel.
