INTRODUCTION
Research Hypothesis
Research question: Is CCT 4P's human capital investment have significant effect on
beneficiaries' education, health and nutrition?
Ha: CCT 4P's human capital investment have significant effect on beneficiaries' education,
health and nutrition.
Ho: CCT 4P's human capital investment have no significant effect on beneficiaries'
education, health and nutrition.
Scope and Delimitation
The general intent of this study is to know the effectiveness of the Conditional Cash
Transfer (CCT) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P's) Human Capital Investment in
Alleviating Poverty. This study yearn to find out the effects of human capital investment
on 4P's beneficiaries' families education, health and nutrition. The locale of this study will
be at Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu and the selected respondents are those who are
members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P's) who are the head of the
household and the children of the said member. The respondents will be given two sets of
survey questionnaires, one for the head of the household and the other one for their
children.
To specify, this research is delimited strictly only to the selected respondents who
are members of 4P's who are head of their household and their children who are studying.
Moreover 4P's beneficiaries that are not from Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu will not
be included, as the locale shall strictly be at Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu only.
Significance of the Study
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P's), is a conditional cash transfer
program of the Philippine Government under the Department of Social Welfare and
Development ( DSWD ) that aims to eradicate extreme poverty in the Philippines buly investing
in health and education. This study entitled "Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT): An Assessment
of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P's) Human Capital Investment Towards
Alleviating Poverty" must be conducted to find out the effectiveness of the said program and to
show the usability of the Conditional Cash Transfer Program. The data and results of this study
will benefit the parents, health workers, student beneficiary, policy makers and the researcher.
This study will benefit the health workers by providing them data and information that
can help in strategizing the health concerns of the 4P's beneficiaries.
This study will also benefit the students, it will be the basis in improving their performance in
terms of academic level for them to be aware of what will be the guidelines in order to continue
availing for the program.
The data and result from this study will help policymakers to implement actionable
recommendations.
This study will also benefit the researcher, because this study could serve as a good reference
for future researchers who will take similar investigation.
Definition of Terms
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - is the executive department of the
Philippine Department, responsible for the protection of the social welfare of rights of Filipinos
and to promote social development.
Human Capital Investment - is a concept used by social scientists to designate personal attributes
considered useful in the production process. It encompasses employee knowledge,skills, know-
how, good health and education.
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P's) - is a conditional cash transfer program of the
Philippine Government under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that
aims to eradicate extreme poverty in the Philippines.
