Andres Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo

Movie Reflection

Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo is a successful movie that portrays the life of the
Katipunan during the Philippine Revolution. Andres Bonifacio, known as Supremo, is
the leader of the Katipuneros who revolted against the Spaniards during the 1800s. He is
one of the well-known heroes in the Philippines because of his characteristics that are
hard to compare to others. This movie was directed by Enzo Williams and it was
considered as an official entry to the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival.

Ang Unang Pangulo is a historical intervention that depicts the powerful, true-to-life
drama of Filipino revolution Andres Bonifacio, one of our country's national heroes for
his virtues and humanity, as seen through the eyes of a young man today. This movie is
based on the history of our country in the perspective of Andres Bonifacio’s story. The
story in the movie showed us the greatness of a true hero. Andres Bonifacio, as shown in
the movie which is acted by Robin Padilla. The film Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo tells
the story of André Bonifacio, the founder and leader of the Katipunan, a revolutionary
movement that sought to free the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule in the late 1800s.

Ang Unang Pangulo is based on the true story of Andres Bonifacio, a Filipino
revolutionary who led the "Katipunan" movement against Spanish oppression in the late
1800s. The Spanish colonized and ruled the Philippines for more than 300 years. The
country did not gain independence until after World War II. As a Filipino, I found this
story especially moving. Andrés Bonifacio (Robin Padilla) is depicted as a strong-willed
man. He witnesses the brutal execution of three priests by Spanish rulers in the only
scene from his childhood that we see. This experience will have a lasting impact on
Bonifacio's life. We see him as an adult, debating how he and his fellow citizens should
approach their uprising. In an early scene, fellow revolutionary Jose Rizal (Jericho
Rosales) begs Bonifacio to follow him down a peaceful path, arguing that true change
will not come unless education and reform are implemented. Unfortunately, the atrocities
he witnesses force Bonifacio to pick up a sword and rifle. This film depicts and justifies
how Andres became the first president, how he started the revolution himself, and how he
continued to fight even though his family's life was in danger.Andres Bonifacio, the first
president of the Philippines, the father of the Philippine Revolution, and regarded as one
of the heroes of Philippine history, endured a great deal despite being betrayed and
labeled a traitor. However, he chose to demonstrate his strength so that the Katipuneros
would not be afraid to express themselves and fight for our country. He was able to gather
a group of Filipinos who are fed up with the cruelty and maltreatment. of the Spaniards.
Even though they lacked material weapons to use in battle, they fought until the bitter end
with great courage and patriotism for the sake of our freedom. This film depicted the
brutality of the Spaniards during their reign in the Philippines. For example, they arrested
people who they believed violated their imposed rules and regulations, killed people who
they found crossing their lines, charged people a tax through cedulas, forced people to
work for them, and so on. This level of cruelty instills in every Filipino living at the time
a strong sense of nationalism. They all want to return to the peaceful nation that was once
theirs, whether they are men or women. It can clearly see here how people solve the same
problem in different ways. Like Jose Rizal wants to fight, he will still follow the law that
was given to them through a peaceful battle. On the other hand, Andres Bonifacio wants
a dangerous revolution where blood will be seen anywhere with the use of weapons. It
just symbolizes that people do really have differences that result in their uniqueness that
will stay in the minds and hearts of the people.

Ang Unang Pangulo: Bonifacio. There is a lot of genuine sincerity here that cannot be
denied. He hit the target dead center in order to educate people about the significance of
Bonifacio and this specific time and place. However, it falls short as a cinematic
experience with multi-layered characters and an engaging narrative.Andres Bonifacio's
story is significant and deserves to be told on film. This film is a must see film for every
Filipino,greatly inspiring.
