progress of the economy.
It is important because I can help our social activity or work it enhance
someone’s capability and improve into a better person in the future.

II. What entrepreneurial activities do you know and capable of doing which are
related to agri-business?
If it is about agriculture the most common and I am capable of doing is the crop
farming because it is naturally shown and teach to me since I am a kid and I
know some related activities in agriculture but I am not that quite good at it.

III. Given the opportunity to own a business that relates with agricultural crop-
production, are you confident to manage it? Explain your answer.
Yes. Because even though I am still a student I know quite a lot about agriculture
and business because I have seen some people do it and I learned from it. For
me it is about the experience which show us how to manage someone so that it
enhances someone capability to manage it.

IV. What do you think are the most important competencies you must possess in
order to become successful in your chosen business?
For me it is to have an initiative. Because ones a person have an initiative no
matter how hard or difficult it gets as long as I still have the initiative to continue
and improve it will help me become a successful business man

V. Name successful entrepreneur from your province whose business is related to

agricultural crop-production. Be able to share with the class their PCEs that
made them successful.
Mark Dexter Iglesias the owner of Iglesias Farm in Malvar, Batangas. It is said
that he didn’t actually play an active role in agriculture and yet He become
successful at it. At his study in UPLB he was placed under Agribusiness
Management program because he didn’t have any preference of which degree to
take so Iglesias said “He gladly accept the course with the idea that he just
needed to finish a degree and then get a job” Once thrust into the farming scene,
Iglesias became interested in goat and egg production. But while he was doing
his research on the topics, he came across the idea of natural farming.  He
immediately envisioned their family farm following the principles of natural
farming because Iglesias agreed with its principles that promote sustainability
and environmental preservation. For Iglesias, farming gives him a sense of
fulfillment. It’s not about the income-generating aspect but rather how he can
contribute to the country’s food security. So even though he didn’t initially plan on
being on a farm, it seems that life has found a way to place Iglesias right where
he’s meant to be.
