Instructional Design Project

Report 1 – Pre-Instructional Components

Instructional Analysis Context:

I will conduct an hour and a half long workshop that is optional for sixth grade teachers at
Rosemary Middle School. Through this workshop, the teachers will learn how to create and
effectively use ClassTag communication app. This includes but is not limited to creating
accounts, adding parents, and sending announcements and messages. This workshop is being
held at the request of the teachers and will be held in one of the sixth-grade teacher’s classroom.
They have used Remind to communicate but are now interested in switching over to ClassTag.
There is a range in years of experience but all the teachers have come together and decided to use
ClassTag as a grade level. They want a more detailed report when it comes to communicating
with parents and ClassTag gives you just that.

I will be analyzing instruction in the classrooms at Rosemary Middle School in the Georgetown
County School District of South Carolina. The building is equipped with material necessary for
success such as wifi, computers (teachers), chromebooks, iPads (teachers) and teachers can also
download the app on their personal phone to use as well. Each classroom also has a router
installed as well that will be beneficial when completing the workshop. The room also has an
Aquos board that will be used for instruction as well. This will allow me to present material on a
large screen to help the others follow along.

Rationale:
Every year, our biggest issue as a school is communication with parents. Through ClassTag, this
will help us to be able to communicate more quickly and effectively with our s
