- Abuse of human rights.
- Chinese government now has
an arm in Hong Kong making it
easier for China to take control
of Hong Kong.

CHINA ON PORTUGUESE-MACAU

- Macau was leased to Portugal in 1557 because

of its significance to the Asia-European Trade.
- In 1987, the Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration
was signed stating that Macau will be given
back to China by December 20, 1999.
- More than half of Macau is Pro-China which
resulted to Macau’s silence regarding its
return to China.
