of the ozone hole.Define the ozone hole and use equations to show how it is formed.

ii) Compound A is a group II metal oxide. It is insoluble in water, gives no
reaction with NaOH but dissolves in HCl. Identify compound A and write
an equation to show its reaction with HCl. (5)

(b) (i) Write balanced equations to show the reactions involved in the industrial
production of H2(g). State the conditions for each reaction. (5)
