SHAPING THE CULTURE OF FILIPINO FAMILY

INTRODUCTION:

OUR CULTURE AS A FILIPINO, WE WANTED THAT ALL OF OUR FAMILY MEMBER WILL STICK
TOGETHER THROUGH UPS AND DOWNS. SOMETIMES, THERE IS SITUATION WE FEEL THAT IT IS HARD FOR
US TO CARE THE ELDERLY IN THE FAMILY MEMBER. BUT THAT’S IN OUR TRADITIONS, NO MATTER WHAT
HAPPEN WE ALWAYS TAKE CARE FOR EACH OTHER. THIS PROJECT AIMING TO GIVE HOPE ON THE
FILIPINO FAMILY AND ALSO TO SHAPE OUR CULTURE TOWARDS THE PERSPECTIVE ABOUT A RETIREMENT
FACILITY THAT WILL HELP OUR ELDERLIES IN FAMILY MEMBERS.

- ALUMANA IS CAME FROM STORY OF IBONG ADARNA, AN EPIC POEM. THE WORD IS ABOUT TAKING
CARE AND GIVE ATTENSIONS. THE MAIN APPROACH OF THE DESIGN TO THE WHOLE PROJECT IS TO
GIVING CARE FOR THE ELDERLYS WHILE DRAW ATTENTIONS AND SHAPING THE FILIPINO CULTURE.
WE APPROACH THE DESIGN BY CONVIVIALITY OR MAKING IT WELCOMING AND FRIENDLY
ATHMOSPHERE, THRU THAT APPROACH WE SETTING THE GOOD IMPRESSIONS OF THE TARGET
USERS. VERSATILITY HAS THE BIG ROLE ON THIS DESIGN, WE WANTED THIS PROJECT MORE
ADAPTIVE AND CONSIDERING THE DIFFERENT SITUATION OF THE USERS, IT ALLOWS TO GIVE A
SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS WHICH IS THE BEHAVIORAL ASPECTS OF ONE ANOTHER.

LIVABLE DESIGN IT GIVES ASSURANCE TO THE USERS AND FAMILY THE FACILITY IS CAPABLE FOR A
LIVABLE FACILITY. THE DESIGN IS NOT JUST A FACILITY THAT ACCOMMODATE ELDERLIES, IT ALSO
ALLOWS TO GIVE NEW OPPORTUNITY TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND TO THE ELDERS.
