SAS 2: Copernican Revolution

For 333 years, the Spaniards colonized us. But none of us (except if you are from Zamboanga) can speak
a straight Spanish sentence. Why do you think so? Because for the Spaniards, they believe that, if you
know something you will fight back. They invaded us in 1500s but they allowed us to go to school at
1800s. They only thought us to pray.
We are not humble. We are meek or submissive because we were not knowledgeable.

Knowledge can make people free. Ignorance is like a prison.

But then, people are afraid to change. We like our comfort zones.
People have always resistance to changes.
And when they don’t understand things, they convert it to anger.
(That is the origin of bashers)

Changing how people think or view things through science is what you called scientific revolution.

That knowledge is power. It can control people.

This subject deals with how science control people of society.

The things you don’t know will not hurt you.

What if you know something but that truth will hurt other people? Are you going to reveal that truth?
That’s what happened during the time of Nicholas Copernicus who started the Copernican revolution.

Psalm 104:5 says, "[the Lord] Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed
forever."
This is a text from the bible wherein Geocentric theory was based on for centuries.

Hundreds of years ago, people have no access in any information. They don't know/understand what's
happening to them. According to some theory, that's why religion was created
and in some religion, they believe that Earth is the middle of the universe.
Religion is answer the things that they understand...that's why they said that if you don;t know the
answer, you pray..
Heaven: People in the past used to say, "look at the sky and you'll find the answer." They are associating
heaven and universe

Any how, time comes na people wanted answers. People are curious. People started to like science
more than religion. But then religion holds the people.. its power, it's politics.
The more you know, the people will believe you.
So church together with the government (monarchy pa nuon). They sponsor a lot of smart people and
priest to do experiments and expeditions
One of them is Copernicus. He had a scholarship grant to conduct a study to support the theory about
geocentric (earth is the centre).
Pero at the long run, naprove ni Copernicus na hindi earth kundi sun ang center..
Eh ang bible says other ways na hindi ng momove ang earth..He is in delimma, kung e rereveal nya and
findings xa mawawalan ng tiwala ang mga tao sa church.. na lier ang church

Nag protest ang mga tao sa Europe hindi lang about the new discovery but also the corruption of
church..Though they have faith, they didn't like na the politics behind it..
Until nag separate sila. Yun na yung time na na build ang Protestantism..And other sects of Christianity
like Seventh day Adventist, Orthodox Church, Born Again, etc

Pero, in the modern times, things were clear up na.. ang nirerefer ng gospel na center ng universe na
Earth ay hindi yung planet kundi ang human mismo, c Jesus Christ.. and all the people who received the
holy spirit..
If you were Copernicus, will you tell the people the center of the universe is sun and not the Earth?
If yes, no one will believe you. They will cast you to death. Can you bear to look the shattered faith of
the people?
If no, can you bear to look at people believing a certain concept that is so wrong but will keep the peace
and harmony of everyone?
Being a scientific revolutionist or just being an ordinary person, remember that in every action you take
there’s always an equal but opposite reaction on it.
