Research Methodology

Defenition
 It is the method of reserach to test hypothesis concerning cause and effect
relathionship.

Characteristic of Experimental Research

1. Participants are choosed randomly by lottery method, tossing a coin or random table
to assign them whether experimental group or control group.
2. Manipulation of the treatment conditions. Concious control of the independent
variable by the researcher through treatment or intervention to observe it’s effect to
dependent variable.
3. Control over extraneous variable by using one of the following measure: pretest,
covariates, matching participant, and homogenous sample.
4. The outcome is dependent variable that is the pressumed effect of the treatment
variable
5. Group comparison to obtain scores for individual or groups on the dependent variable
and comparing the means and variance both within the group and betweenthe group.
6. Treats to validity to specify reasons for why we can be wrong when we make an
inference in an experimental because of covariance, causation constructs or whether
the causal relathionship holds over variation in persons, setting, treatments and
outcome.
