Hi there Boy!

You might wonder why I mentioned in my comment about favors Nidela had
rendered to my family. Well, she was all the time ready to stay with us in that
small house where nanay Luz and tatay Neong used to live. I can’t recall who were
their children that time and the year they occupied that house that is at the back
of my mother-in-law’s house in Agua Dulce. Nidela was HS student when your
kuya Aloy helped her to get the DEDAC’s scholarship for her to finish her
secondary education at Western Leyte College. Aloy requested the late Dr. Navera
to accommodate Nidela as one of the scholars. She was with us in the house with
my 2 eldest kids Jobem and Etat. And when mommy died in 1975, we moved to
the ancestral house because daddy wanted us to be the care taker while he was
in Manila. Nidela was with us until she graduated from High School. I remember
how she would work helping us in the kitchen, going to the market and doing
household chores including taking care of my 2 children especially. Jobem was 2
years old and Etat was one year old that time. I admire the earnest efforts of
Nidela when she was with us. And when she got married, she would always visit
us in our home. It’s not only Nidela, but Noemi, and Vivian were helping me too
with my 2 children. Noemi and Vivian of stayed with us in the first house we
rented, same house nanay and tatay occupied that was when mommy was still
around. She would ask Noemi to help me babysit also Vivian. I consider myself so
incredibly lucky and privileged to be afforded this kind of care by my cousins while
we were working that time. I always remind my children to remain grateful to
their aunties for taking care of them when they were small. Even the songs my
cousins sang to make my babies sleep I taught them and they know how to sing
those songs.
I pray and wish to see you and your family one day for many things to reminisce.
Regards to you and your family,
Ate Ruth
