 How have stereotypes affected the way Spaniards view

themselves in Spain and abroad? How have these

stereotypes affected the way others view Spain, throughout
the period we studied in class? 
 What events have had a role in the development of micro-
nationalisms (Catalonia, Basque Country, Galicia, etc.) in
Spain? And how has the presence of micro-nationalisms in
Spain impacted the country’s changing ideas
about nation  and other?
 Since the nineteenth century and up to the present, Spain
has been heavily influenced by three pillars of power—the
aristocracy, the church, and the military. How did these three
pillars contribute to Spain’s intricate balance between
tradition and modernity during that period?
 How have different forms of media (painting, print, film,
photography, posters) been used to convey ideas about
Spain from the nineteenth century to the present, from both
within and beyond Spain?
