We can all agree that water is life but we can also agree that water is a threat to life , in the

past decade
water related disasters or hydrological disasters have increased, they have not only struck more
frequently but they have also been even more severe casing more political social and economic threats
in many countries around the world . water related disasters such as storms and tsunamis are the kinds
of disasters that effect the highest number of people.

Water disasters (water related hazards or hydro hazards) are basically harmful and extreme changes in
the quality of water on earth or in can mean changes in the way that the water is distributed or if it
moves beneath the surface or in the atmosphere. Water can get triggered from critical events like
droughts , tornados , mudslides , landslides or floods. The worst water disaster happened in 2018 where
more than 1 million people where displaced .

There are mainly three types of hydrological disasters which are :

Floods: basically a flood happen when there's an over flow in water or soaks lands that are usually dry .
Floods take about hours or days to develop which means that people can have enough time to prepare
or deal with it . But sometimes (rarely) they develop suddenly without a warning. They are developed in
in so many ways . The most common way being a river on a streams over flow in their banks these are
called ( riverine floods).

Limnic Eruptions : it’s a really rare kind of natural disasters , in which dissolved carbon dioxide suddenly
erupts from deep lake waters, forming a gas cloud capable of suffocating wildlife, livestock, and humans.
It happens unexpectedly and really quickly and it puts the life of any living thing around it at a huge risk .
there are some factors that are needed In order for a limnic eruption to occur such as seismic activity,
Disruptions in the Earth's crust can cause underground shifts, triggering the explosions or
releasing pressure in the area.

Tsunamis : a single tsunami is a series of great sea waves caused by an earthquake under
water , landside or volcanic eruptions . Rarely tsunamis are caused by a giant meteor impact
with the ocean . A tsunami isn't just a single wave but it’s a whole series of waves . Their also
known as wave trains The first wave in a tsunami is not necessarily the most destructive.
Tsunamis are not tidal waves. Fun fact : Tsunami waves can be very long (as much as 60 miles,
or 100 kilometers) and be as far as one hour apart. They are able to cross entire oceans without
great loss of energy.
