Disaster:-
A disaster is a serious problem
occurring over a short or long period
of time that causes widespread
human, material, an economic or
environmental loss which exceeds
the ability of the affected community
or society to cope using its own
resources. Ex; Earthquake, Fluid,
etc.
Type of disaster:-
Natural Disasters
Natural disasters are large-scale geological or
meteorological events that have the potential to
cause loss of life or property. These types of
disasters include:
•Tornadoes and Severe Storms
•Hurricanes and Tropical Storms
•Floods
•Wildfires
•Earthquakes
•Drought
Human made disaster:-
Human-Caused disasters have an
element of human intent, negligence, or
error involving a failure of a man-made
system, as opposed to natural disasters
resulting from natural hazards. Such
man-made disasters are crime, arson,
civil disorder, terrorism, war,
biological/chemical threat, cyber-attacks,
etc.
Earthquake:-
An earthquake (also known as
a quake, tremor, or temblor) is the shaking of
the surface of the Earth resulting from a sudden
release of energy in the Earth's lithosphere that
creates seismic waves. Earthquakes can range
in intensity, from those that are so weak that
they cannot be felt, to those violent enough to
propel objects and people into the air, damage
critical infrastructure, and wreak destruction
across entire cities
Flood:-
Flooding is an overflowing of water
onto land that is normally dry.
Floods can happen during heavy rains,
when ocean waves come on shore,
when snow melts quickly, or when
dams or levees break. Damaging
flooding may happen with only a few
inches of water, or it may cover a
house to the rooftop.
Tsunami:-
tsunami, (Japanese: “harbour wave”)
also called seismic sea wave or tidal
wave, catastrophic ocean wave,
usually caused by a
submarine earthquake, an underwater
or coastal landslide, or a volcanic
eruption. The term tidal wave is
frequently used for such a wave, but it
is a misnomer, for the wave has no
connection with the tides.
