Exercise 2: Designing a circuit

Purpose.
To apply Ohm’s law.
To get an understanding for linearity.
To design a circuit based on the characteristics of the components.

Preparation.
In exercise 1, you measured the characteristics for a light bulb and a diode. From these
characteristics the following 3 circuits should be built with the specifications of:

Circuit 1: The resistor R1 must be picked so that the diode voltage is 0.7 V.

Circuit 2: R2 must be picked so that the voltage drop of the light bulb is 1.1V.

Circuit 3: The values for R3, R4 and R5 needs to pick based on the requirement of that ID must be
40 mA.

 Take the resistor R1 to R5 from the E24 row

 Use the 1N4148 diode
 Use a light bulb with specification 1,25 V / 250 mA.
 Optional: LED

Lab work.
 Build the 3 circuits with the resistor values you calculated during preparation.
 Measure both the voltage and the current to proof that the requirements is upheld.
 Consider what impact measuring the current and voltage might have.
