V-Vision wearable for the blind

Aim

There are about 18 million visually impaired people in India and 250 million visually impaired
people in the world.Vision was born from the experiences i have seen in day to day life .
There are many people out there who struggle to go out even to do basic chores. They have
quite a struggle even to run their basic errands. My Goal or ambition is to enable them and
make them more independent in leading their day to day life without any hassle. Its to also
ensure visually impaired people have to feel safe and confident in their own everyday life just
like any of us.My vision is to give them a better world where their life is pretty much normal
like anyone else. This device gives them independence, confidence ,capabilities and several
limitless possibilities brought in front of them.

Description

This innovative product is embedded with a shoe and vision glasses, the shoes can be
connected via bluetooth .The shoes has a microcontroller, gps module and tiny ultrasonic
sensors that has been divided into a matrix in each degree and vibration motors
corresponding to the ultrasonic sensors so that when an object is detected in that specific
degree the vibration motor will vibrate otherwise it will not vibrate since the visually impaired
people have a far more advanced sense of touch than us they can feel which motor in which
degree has been vibrating and they can detect the path and chose in which degree they
want to go. The gps module takes the help of google maps this time the shoes know where
the person wants to go so the way the person wants to go that corresponding vibration motor
will only vibrate and since internal maps of building are also available the person can
navigate in big, famous buildings also.it has a power source of piezoelectric plates which
only work while they walk/have contact with the shoes to ground to save energy and to avoid
false triggers when feet is accidentally lifted.it has a step/hole detector if the ground level is
off with an ultrasonic sensor facing down it warns the user there is a step by vibrating at a
different frequency. Vibration speed changes as we get closer to the object or as the object
gets closer to us in a specific filtering range this helps the blind person know about the state
of the object better and this can be used to filter crowds walking . The parts of shoes are 3d
printed with PLA filament(poly lactic acid) so that when the shoes get worn out they person
can easily take the shoe out from the apparatus and insert another shoe the plastic can be
recycled to 3d print for the same apparatus 3d piece once again for another v vision shoes
so it is eco-friendly.The glasses use cameras on the 4 sides and lidar sensor on the 4 sides
with ai to recognise people emotions objects etc via google lens api .if we ask it with voice
recognition for example “vision, what's in front of me”, it will tell in front of you within a specific
range and how much distance away it is and in which degree it is in with the help of an
earpiece in english i will add many languages in the future . and it will calculate the blind
persons breadth and calculate the angle of the object and a vibration motor will vibrate if it is
in that person's path.the vibration motors used are haptic motors to make sure vibrations are
not too vigorous and the motors work with the same principle of shoes so the blind person
can know in which direction slash area that object is.The glasses can also recognise
holes, steps and slopes there are difference frequency of vibration for detecting these and
the vibration motor in that corresponding sid will vibrate .The glasses also has a road
crossing mode in which cameras in both sides can tell in which pace to move calculating the
vehicle’s speed etc.it can recognise texts. The glasses cannot be connected since it has a
processing unit of its own,in the future this may be used to attend calls via voice
recognition. This device will filter the variables with setting ranges so that they can walk in
crowds .the current power source for the glasses would be rechargeable battery but in the
future i am planning other energy source like solar.through the v vision app we can connect
the shoes with google maps ,the app offers a community of people who are visually
impaired.in future models The shoes will also have their own processing unit. The glasses
are also 3d printed.

Unique advantages in current market

The current market has ai identification via phone but this we don't have to use phone for
glasses.it also has smart cane for blind but canes disturb other people because of their
sound and vibration motor can only be felt by the person wearing it.path detection and gps
are some of the unique features and no development of such shoes and glasses with road
crossing and step detection have been made.in fact no such shoes have been made in the
market .even though there are glasses for partially blind.this device helps in visually impaired
people of different levels.
