hear the conversation and the question
on the recording, they are not written in
your book. You must choose the best
answer to each multiple choice question
from the 4 choices that is written in your
test booklet.

Skill 18. anticipate the topic
it is very helpful if you know what topics to
expect in long conversation, therefore you
should try to anticipate the topics; are the
conversation about some aspect of school
life, or some type of social issue or a trip
someone is planning. Therefore look briefly
at the answer in the test book and try to
determine the topic.

Skill 19. anticipate the question
it is very helpful to answer individual
questions, if you can anticipate what the
questions will be and listen specifically for the
answer to the question

Skill 20. determine the topic
as you listen to each long conversation,
you should thinking about the topic
(subject), or main idea. Generally the
main idea or topic is in the first one or
two sentences.

try setting in your mind;
1. who is talking
2. When does the conversation probably takes
place?
3. Where does the convbrsation probably takes
place
4. What is the sourse of information for the
conversation?

Skill 22. listen for answer in order
there are 2 possible methods to use while
listening to part 2.
1. You can listen to the conversation (and
ignore the answer) or,
2. You can follow along with the answer while
you listen.
