Iveth Santos Trejo wrote an essay about the painter Fernando Botero after being assigned a research project on him by her professor. She began by searching "Who is Fernando Botero?" and was impressed by his paintings of fat people. Upon further investigation, she learned that Botero paints people as fat not to mock them, but to create fields of color and depict the positive aspects of life. To Iveth, Botero's paintings use contrast and color in an interesting way that conveys how all people are equal and perfect.

STUDENT: Santos Trejo, Iveth Last year when I was in the second cycle of the university one of my professors told me to do research on a painter named Fernando Botero and he told me to do an essay about him, so I Google, ¿Who is Fernando Botero? First I went to images and I was impressed and drew attention to his paintings his drawings that he made since he only painted fat people. Little by little I was investigating this painter more and the reason why Fernando Botero paints fat people is because he says it is to create fields of color also when investigating more and more this painter says that he does not paint fat people but defends that painting should look for the positive side and also tells us that painters have always worked in the exaltation of life. To my point of view, in the images I can notice the contrast and the colors that I apply since this painter draws them and it is very interesting since it can also reflect that we are all equal and perfect. These images are beautiful with the fact that they are painted and knowing the meaning of each one researching about who painted them.
