consider NPA.
Reassess airway and respiratory effort to ensure the airway is 1

adequately opened.

Suction

Insert the suction tip into the back of the mouth.
14 Close the port of the suction tube/catheter to provide suction. 1 **
15 Apply suction as you withdraw the tip using a circular motion. 2
Suction for no more than 15 seconds at a time for an adult, 10 for 3 **

child and 5 for infant.
